GREAT-AUNT OF ACCIDENT UCTIM OF WOLF LYKE JULY 4 Mrs Blanche Starkey, of r 1 Piercjton. formerly of r 1 Syracuse, is a great-aunt of David L. Bumheimer of Wolf Lake, who lost his life :n an accident on Sunday. July 4. He died instantly of injuries received in the two-car head-on crash i eight miles west of Merriam on highway 33. Robert Young of Fort Wayne was also killed in the acci.;dent. ■ ' Services for Bumheimer were held Tuesday afternoon in the Smith funeral home in Columbia City. Burial was in the Christian Chapel cemetery at Merriam.

NORTH WEBSTER mAIN INJURED — Donald Stidham, 18/ r 1 North Webster, was taken to the Goshen hospital Thursday. July 8, following a single-vehicle crash on the Syr-acuse-MHford road near Syracuse. Stidham is being treated for cuts and abrasions and is being held for X-rays.
Additional Appropriations Asked
The county highway supervisor. , Charles Cleveland, appeared at the ! recent meeting of the county commissioners to present proposed transfers and’ additional appropriations. One transfer is from supervisor No. 101 to Garage Mechanic No. 10T in the amount of $3,867100. .Another is from Gravel No. 302 to , Group Insurance No. 110 in the ai mount of $l,lOO. Total transfers re- s quested are $4,967. An additional appropriation is requested to repair parts No. 309 in the amount of $15,000. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Beiswanger of ; MtlfiVrd appeared before the board to have the commissioners approve the plat of four lots in the Fuller sub-division in Milford. Each lot is 200 x 120 feet Little and Clark In- ! surance building is on one of these lots at the present time. Road Information Lewis Biiz of Lookout Point Subdivision at Irish Lake appeared and asktxi the commissioners the process for petitioning for county roads and requiremen’s as to width etc. He also flsfced if; advertising could ,be placed on highway right-of-way. . He was told it could not. Laral Turner' appeared protesting the decision of viewers for not I taking the road he had petitioned for at Palestine Lake into, the county ■ highway system. Commissioners have been busy since their July meeting discussing budgets for the coming year, especially the county highway budget and some possible raises for some of the employes.
