1 and a brother, Guy Burris, Marion 46 YEARS AGO, JULY 9, 1925 Miss Hazel Pauline Wagner, daugh . ter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wagnei of New Paris, and Virgil K. Postma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Postma of Nappanee, were married Friday, July 3, at Nappanee. The newly married couple will reside on the Jacob Postma farm east of Milford. James Hamman and Harry Schultz who are employed at Gary, came home Friday and spent the remainder of the week with their parents. Roy Treesh has leased the business room recently vacated by C. W. Estep which he will use as a storage room for his road building equipment. A number of relatives and friends gathered, at the home of Mrs.' Mary McDonald on Sunday where they enjoyed a birthday dinner in honor of the 86th birthday aninversary of Mrs. McDonald. The ’ bam on the Daniel Deeter farm about three miles east of Milford was destroyed by fire, caused from lightning about midnight MotU day night. Ed Schneider Named Outstanding Carrier I Edward Schneider 706 Elsie Ave., | Davenport, lowa, was recently named lowa’s “outstanding carrier” at the 65th annual convention of the lowa Rural Letter Carriers. Schneider is the son-in-law of Mr. and Mr-. Jaeob E. Kent. Sr . of r 1 Syracuse His wife is the former Martha Jane Kern. Serving 450 families along a <5 mile route. Mr. Schneider has work-1 led fog the post office for 15 y. Improved roads and cars are the biggest changes since he started working for the post office. He now lias less than one mile of dirt roads (on his route, and drives a car with controls on the right side to give him /eadv access to mailboxes.

JUNIOR DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS AT INDIANAPOLIS The Syracuse-Wawasee Junior Drum and Bugle Corps will march in the parade in Indianapolis climaxing the annual Indiana American Legion convention on July 17 according to their organizer Millard Hire. Hire has 33 boys in the corps and 11 in the color guard. The group marched in Memorial Day parades in Milford and Syracuse- this year, and made a highly favorable impression. j WEEKEND GUESTS Mr. and Mis.
