MILFORD - LEESBURG Hospital Notes Mrs. Arnold Doll of r 1 Milford entered the Goshen hospital last Tuesday and had major surgery on Wednesday. Mrs. Anna Bishop of Leesburg was released last Tuesday from the Goshen hospital. Mrs. Harold Irvine of Leesburg and Burl Warren of r 1 Milford was admitted to the Goshen hospital on Wednesday. Johnny Ray Owens. 8-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Owens of r 2 Leesburg, entered the Murphy Medical Cen . Wednesday. He was dismissed Thursday. Joe Mater ’of r 2 Leesburg was admitted Friday to the Murphy Medical Center. LEGION TEAM IN WINNING STREAK The Ligonier Legion team has now won five of its last six games and will enter the Mermaid Festival tournament this weekend as a winning ballelub. Ligonier will meet Indianapolis at 10 a.m. at North Webster. At 1 p.m the losers will play at North Webster and at 4 p.m. the winners will play for the championship at North Weibster. Ligonier hats defeated Marion, Michigan City, and Fort Wayne, but the tournament tliis weekend should be a good indication of the progress of the team. Warren is the favorite to win it as they are considered one of the state’s best ball chd>s. However, any one of the four teams could emerge the \ictor. ORPHAN OF TORNADO FINDS FRIENDS A parakeet has been in the yard of Mrs. Hazel Veltman, r 4 Syra-, etsse, for some time. It feeds with the wild birds at the bird feeder. ■After much inquiring Mrs. Veltm:iH has decided the bird is an orphan of tlie Palm Sunday tornado, possible from the Dunlap area. . The bird lias been outside for some time. It seems to be able to take care of itself, but will bare to be taken inside before cold weather.
