GIANTS AND SOX WIN AT SYRACUSE SAT. ‘ 1 The Giants and Sox, Syracuse Pony League teams, won on Sat- ‘ urday. The Giants played the Tigers and the Sox played the Yanks. The Giants had two runs, two hits and one error while the Tigers scored no runs on hits and two ert-ors. The Winning pitchers were Steve Conrad and Greg South. They walked six and struck out 15. Mrs. Herman J. Leffel Funeral services for Mrs. Herman J (Mary Lois 1 Leffel. 40. North Manchester, were held Friday at the Bender funeral hone at I North Manchester. Mrs Leffel died unexpectedly of a heart attack suffered Tuesday , morning, June 15. while attending | a class at St. Frances college, Fort i Wayne. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. \ Harold Pollock of Syracuse. Mrs. I Kenneth Conkhne of Cromwell and Mrs. Vaughn Kastielney of Avilla. She is also survived by her bus’band; two sons. Bruce and Joseph, both at home; her father, Ernest Weeks erf Albion; and six brothers. Mrs. Leffel was a first grade teacher at the Chester elementary school at North Manchester. D. H. LESSIG DRAWS CONTRACT FOR WIRING It was unofficially learned today ‘Wednesday that D. H. Lessig Engineers. Inc., of Warsaw is preparing the contract for the re-wiring of the court house for the commissioners, to sign next Thursday. The contract goes to Delp Electric at Plymouth The base bid was 423. Carl Alfrey Employed By Kinder Mfg., Co. Carl- Alfrey. son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Alfrey of Syracuse, and a 1965 graduate of Wabash college at Crawfordsville is now employed by the Kinder Manufacturing Co. which has headquarters in ElkhartMr. Alfrey and the former Judy Baker of Elwood were marred last Friday, June 18. at the First Presbyterian church in her home town. They are presently residing at Dppecanoe lake. Eady in July they will move to Redlands, Calif, and Mr. Alfrey wHI work in the Kinder : plant there.
