Offered 4-H’ers Interested In Grain Marketing SPECIAL — Students.with an interest in grain, marketing and transportation, and with outstanding 4-H records are eligible to compete for scholarshiiis this year. The Milwaukee road will provide two 4-H Grain Marketing Transportation scholarships of S4OO each to current or former 4-H boys They must be enrolled in 'an accredited college or plan to enroll in the fall of 1965. Hie scholarships will be awarded in December to two applicants from the Instate area served by the railroad: Idaho. Illinois, Indiana. lowa, Montana, North Dakota. South Dafajtft. Washington and Wisconsin. Bethel Youth Hosts District Officials Hie Bethel Church of the Brethren youth group in Milford hosted three officers and one counselor of the Northern Indiana District Church of tlie Brethren Youth at its meeting Oil Thursday of last week The guests' present were Marilyn Rogers, New Paris. Kay Tolle, South Bend. Annie Houser of North Liberty, and Mrs. John Mettler, Jf.. Nappanee. Kathy Wolferman of Milford was also a guest. Trie district representatives have been visiting the various youth groups to find out how the district officers .can work more effectix ely with the local sroups and to answer questions for the local youth. During the business meeting sbme discussion was held concerning the program the youth group is during the Sunday morning service on June 27. It will be a panel discussion on "Integration or Segregation In Schools. Job Opportunities, and Marriage". Questions were also brought up about the possible change in curriculum fdr the youth in the Sunday school class during the fourth quarter. Hie youth is planning Slave Weeks July 12 thru July 23. They will take a trip on July 24. and 25 Refresliments were served to the 15 persons present by Linda Kesler and Judy Vanlaningham. Hie next meeting will be held on July 1 at the home of Dianne Dwyer. The group will make posters for the coming slave weeks. WOWO To Broadcast Series On Auto Safety FORT WAYNE, — In an effort to call greater public attention to traffic safety, Radio Station WOWO will broadcast a seven-part series of programs about the safety of American Automobiles. Titled “The Controversial Car,” the series of half-hour programs will be broadcast at 8:30 p.m. beginning June 26 and continuing through July 2nd. The programs examine both tlie improved safety of autos and their lethal aspect ... A factor accounting f«- 47,800 American deaths last year. - In his study of the killer auto, producer Walter McGraw interviewed numerous physicians, auto safety engineers, and university research scientists, such as Dr. Paul Joliet. Chief of the Federal Government's Division of Accident Prevention; Willtom S. Foulis, Executive Director of the President's Committee tor Traffic Safety, and Dr. Don Huelke, a professor from the University of Michigan.
