OBITUARIES Leesburg Pastor Is Victim Os Own Hand
i Rev. Clark W Myers, 64. of Leesburg, pastor of the Leesburg and Gunette Methodist churches died • at his home of a gunshot wound to the head about 7:30 aim. Monday. Kosciusko county coroner Dr. Joe Bill Mishler , reportedly ruled the death a suicide and stated the wound was. self inflicted by a .22 j caliber rifle. L it was reported that Rev. Myers | was found in the basement of the Leesburg church parsogage by Mrs. ; Myers Portly after she heard a < gunshot. Rev. Myers had been des- I pondent and in failing health for past six months. Rex Myers was bom June 18, t 1900, in Petersburg, the son of Phillip and Nancy McCord* Myers. He served as the pastor at Dunkirk before being transferred to Leesburg. On June 7. 1924. he marred Corers Sproule, who surx-ives. Surviving in addition to the widow ! are two daughters, Mrs. Lyle Nataiie) Tipton of Lafayrtte and Mrs. Donald Janet 1 Gooch of Harvey, 11l : one sister. Mrs. Samuel Keller of Allenspark. Nappanee, died of complications following an illness of three months, at 8:50 a.m. Friday. June 4. at her home. She was bom at Nappanee on ** October 25. 1901. On May 5, 1919, , she xvas united ir. marriage to Raymond E. Hare who survives. Mrs. Wilson was bora February 20, 1906, in Fairmount. Ind., the daughter of Frank and Norma L. (Lemming) Dilts. She had resided most of her life in Marion, moviug to Syracuse in 1957. Her first husband, Earl Stevens, preceded her in death. She married Carl Wilson in 1947 and he survives. Mrs. Wilson xvas a member of the Seven Day Advent church at Marion. Surviving in addition to the husband are two sons, Earl M. Stevens, of North Carolina, and Billy B. Stevens of Rome. Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Vemoa Hoffman, „of Morrill, Kans.; seven brothel's, William and Estel Dilts of Warren, Leonard Dilts of Columbia City, Barney, Floyd, Lloyd, and Ralph Dilts of Marion; five sisters. Mrs. Eva Deeter of Wabash, Mrs. Mary Gray, Mrs. Mazel Cook, and Mrs. Kathleen Houston, all of Marino, and Mrs. Joan Welsh of Leesburg: and seven grandchildren.
