Town Board Receives Personette Resignation
The Syracuse town board of trusees at their regular meeting Tuesl day evening. June 1, heard a letter 1 of resignation read by board presiednt, Byron Connolly, from deputy 1 marshal Fred Personette to be effective as of June 15. Mr. Personeti te stated he had enjoyed his work as ' deputy for the town of Syracuse for ’ the past sb* years, but he felt he r should be with his children more. Since there were only three board members resent, no action was taken ■ on Mr. Personette’s resignation at r the meeting. 1 Mr. Cononlly and the board also heard a letter read from Harold ‘ Gray, asking for approval on the plan commission action on the Howard and Lamm site to be changed ’ from suburban to roadside business No action was taken by the board on this matter.Joe Hughes asked about the cutting of weeds in vacant lots and was infomxd that the town was mailing letters to owners of Vacant lots, requesting them to mow the weeds. Mr. Hughes also told the board'members , that the public alley -between his house and the Donald Niles property - has w ater running down and into the Niles’ basement when there is a heavy rain. He stated that there was . a storm sewer under the alley and was told tiiat tlx* town could place a manhole there to catch the excess - Mrs. Betty Dust asked the board a-, bout young boys with pellet and B B guns shooting at birds and small [pets in the town-limits. She was told j : ; the police should, be called whenever small boys .are found shooting this 'type of gun in town. They will bo warned the first tiim* and the second offense the gun will be confiscated! for a certain length of time. \ ;i Police chief Dan Ganger told the •town had ixx'ii -prnyeti for mo-quitos last Sunday.
