Mermaid Festival Activities And Committees Are Announced
The 1965 Mermaid Festival chairman. Jon-W. Sroufe, reports that committees have been appointed for this year’s festival activities. Festival fun might. June 19, is the kick-off for a week of joyous festivities. The fun night activities will take place on the streets of North Webster as they did last year. In addition to activities in North t Webster, the committee has decided 1 to have a dance at Yellow Banks Re- . sort hotel at Lake Webster. Dancing ? for the evening will start at 9:30 p. m. This dance, which has been nam-1-ed Festival Fantasy, is a rendition i from the traditional Mermaid Ball of past years. The setting of the Festi- »■ val Fantasy dance will be somewhat [less formal than the Mermaid Ball. Queen candidates and their escorts will be invited' and tickets for the public can be purchased by writing the Mermaid Festival headquarters. The object is an evening of relaxed atmosphere. The two hour parade will be held ■Friday, June 25. at 6 pm. followed by the selection of the seven MerIniaid Princess. Saturday is the termination of' the Festival and the 'crowning hour for the 1965 “Queen - Entries are now coming in for the i “Queen of.
