So the muffins are rich and winefruity from the prunes, brown sugar-sweet, crisp-crunchy and altogether delectable. . i Offer them hot. with lots'of butter. Serve for breakfast withsausages and fruit juice. For lunch, with salad. To the youngsters mid-afternoon with a glass of milk. . In fact, any time is good Prune Muffin time. They’re easy to too. 2 cups flour Filling: k 3 r 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup chopped prunes? r 2 teaspoon salt ; . 1 cup cornflakes or other 3 tablespoons sugar \ dry cereal 1 egg, beaten ' ■ *4 cup sugar 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons melted butter U cup melted shortening or margarine 2-3 tablespoons hot water Combine dry ingredients and sift together into a large bowl. Combine egg, milk .and melted shortening: add to dry ingredients all at once. Snr quickly to mix. (Batter should be lumpy.) Combine filling ingredients. Fill greased muffin cups about l. full; add a generous spoonful filling, then additional batter jntil cup is about % filled and filling is covered. Bake in a hot oven. 425 degrees, 25 minutes, or until muffins test done in center. Remove from pan and serve warm. Makes 12-16 muffins depending on size muffin tin used.

State Parks Offer Naturalist Service , ! Thirteen of Indiana s2l state parks a_ai:i will offer naturalist services to the public this summer. John E. Mi’.clull. director of the. Indiana Department of Conservation said twiiity naturalists will serve 13 state parks his summer interpreting nahi'iory to park visitors. The state* park naturalist program Ixgan in tlie summer of 1923 at Me ICormick's Creek state park — seven years after that area became In.[diana’s first state park. WOMEN ENTERTAIN MEN The women of the Hex Grange entertained the men at a supper Tuesday evening, April 27, at the Grange Hall. Mrs. Fred Johnson was in charge of the program.
