Syracuse Girl Winner Os County Spelling Bee
Karen Allen, a Syracuse fifth grader,, won the elementary spelling contest Saturday over Kenneth PetWiler of Warsaw Washington elementary school. Karen missed the word “cavil” in the 38th round and Kenneth spelled it correctly. Kenneth then missed the word "commodities" giving Karen another chance Karen spelled ' commodities” and ■'bombard" to win the championship.. . Milford Churches Plan Easter Season The churches, of Milford have announced their plans for the coming Easter season. They will be holding joint Holy Week services at the NeuSalem Church of the Brethren but will hold individual communion and sunrise senices. Their plans for individual sendees follow while the Holy Week senices may be found in an article elsewhere in this issue. s Methodist On Holy Thursday the Methodist church will be open from 9 a m. until 6 p.m. for Holy Communion. To Complete Planning Os Sewer System
At a special meeting held at 12 j -noon on Tuesday, persuant to a waiver, Milford town board members considered the preliminary planning documents submitted by Baxter and Woodman, civil and sanitary engineers of Crystal Lake, 111., for the ! sanitary- sewer extension and sewage pumping and treatment facilities and the advisability of having the Illinois firm to complete the detailed plan-! ning of the sewer system. The state health board had said the town didn’t have enough land for the sewage project. Land eoiiiwct.ing with the town-owned property\ was {purchased from Earl Wolfermank on Tuesday afternoon to allow for \he completion of the project.
