Mrs. Jack Carr, president of the Dirkey-Creek township Parent - Teachers Association made the xoli lowing statement at the February 116 meeting of the PTA held in the school cafeteria: “A week ago tonight I attended the school board 1 meeting along with many others. . The main topic of discussion after j the regular business was conduct- ’ ed was the site for the new consolidated high school. “I am’ sure that almost everyone has been keepi ing up on this subject through one I media or another. A lot is to be : learned from setting in on such a i meeting other than the facts conI cerning the issue at hand. One thing was quite evident to me. The school : board has an important decision to I make and even with all the harass- ■ ment from various points they are ! not to be rushed into a. quick decision. “The majority of the board seems to have the concern of the our schools uppermost in their minds. It was brought out in the meeting •as has been stated before’ that the school board has signed options for three sites- Sutton-Ritter-Kline sites'. . | ’’Land boring, reports from the I three sites were to have been completed but doe to unsuitable weather had not been done. I have heard this evening that they have started work on these borings. “There was considerable other discussion at the meeting. A lot of ( |it in my personal opinion lacking' i good taste. I. think that anyone pro- ’ posing an intelligent, weH-mariner- ; ed question will receive a like an-. swer These questions should be< j asked of those who know y our I school board * and conclusions ' drawn from these answers and not from numerous other sources. “It is always we'F to show your I concern over important matters con- ■ manner The - people representing ■ Syracuse school, are to be commendi ed on their ’conduct and it is my I personal hope that this will continue”; Spelling Bee Mrs Carr announced the PTA sponsored spelling bee will be held ■ February 23 at 7:30 in the Syracuse . school.
