SEWING LESSONS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AT FAIRGROUNDS JAN. 12 A series of lessons on Sewing for Young children will be held at the Shrine Building, fairgrounds, beginning Tuesday. Jan. 12, at 9:30 a. m. The classes will be taught by Mrs. Ruth McCleary, extension agent, home economics, of KosciOsko county. i The series will include a discussion of materials suitable for the < casion, patterns atid their interpretation, basic sewing methods, and an evaluation of garments in | terms of self lielp. growth, and care features. Much of the work will be done in class which will be I demonstration followed by practice. Portable sewing machines will be helpful. The first class will' be a j 2 hour lesson, but very possibly those following would be all day ' with a sack lunch at noon. Plans wall be completed on January 12. MASONIC LEADERS CONFER AT CAPITAL Top officers of the 547 Masonic lodges in Indiana will be in Indianapolis Saturday, Jan. 9, for the annual Founders’ Day Conference. The gathering, to be held in Murat Shrine Temple beginning at 10 o’clock. is expected to attract more than one thousand officers Inaugurated two years ago, the Conference is designed as a trainschool for newly installed masters, warders, and .secretaries. It is always held on the Saturday nearest January 12. anniversary of the constitution of the Grand Lodge at Madison in 1818. Clyde E. Flowers of Fort Wayne, Grand Master of Masons in Indiana, will preside. One feature of the program will be a progress report describing plans for the year-long observance of t'he se-quiaentennial of Freemasonry in Indiana in 1967-. 68.
