JERI’S JOURNEYS Santa was very good to the children of Our Town this year. I hear he brought lots of toys and made all of them very happy. He jnlly aM man with the tong widte bean! even took time out from packing all those toys to visit ! wiih ns on Christmas eve. He was here three tones in Speaking of Santa visiting in Milford he had been in the south just befwe he came our way on Christmas eve. Many folks commented on his warm southern accent Not mnch going on this week — Everyone is busy getting ever toe Christmas rash and getting ready for New Year’s. Young Gary Bray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Bray of Our Town, looked real western on v iristmas morn- > ing in the cowboy suit that Santa left him. Many disappointed football fans around Our Town after the Cleveland Browns crumbled the Baltimore Colts Sunday afternoon 27-6 in the NFL Championship game. The shop here at The Mail-Journal plant is receiving a new coat of paint. The top is being painted a light green and the bottom a darker green. S Sgt. and Mrs. R. P. Zullo (the former Phyllis Cecil) write from Hawaii that they are “still enjoying Hawaii, although we do miss the snow al this time of the year". The note from the Zullos continue. “Pete was promoted to E-6 this month, which makes a nice Christmas present”. The letter also gives a new address which appears elsewhere in this issue. The note came in a Christmas card addressed to Mr. and Mrs. B. We would like to tell the Zullos and anyone else who’s enjoying warm sunshine that they aren't really missing much snow. As the weatherman wouldn’t even send snow for Christmas. Guess you might say we’ve been having about as many drab, foggy days as anything else. We hear several plan to take the test for the postmaster’s position j to be open on January 31 in Our Town. Our present postmaster, Eugene Fefltner. has done an exceptionally good job during the time he has held the position. We will miss seeing him when we go after the mail. Have you made any predictions on the coming countv basketball tournament. Even though dopsters have named Claypool and Pierceton as the top contenders I’m going to stick with Jim Allen and Our Town’s Trojans. Lei’s see, on Wednesday night I think say Leesburg will defeat LarwiU to an easy game. The Pierceton-Claypool game will, be a contest bat Pierceton will be toe victor. And, of course, if Oar Town’s Trojans are going to win the tourney they’ll have to defeat Akron first On the second evening of play (Thursday) it will be South Whitley over Mentone and Silver Lake over North Webster. On Friday it will be Leesburg over Syracuse by a basket following a very hard fought contest and Milford wifi gain victory over the Pierceton Cubs in a thriller. That will put South Whitley •» gainst Stiver Lake an Saturday afternoon and we don't think the Whitley county boys will let the Ramblers defeat them the sterad semi-final game ftfilford wffl defeat Leesburg to win the honor rs playing in the final game. That takes us to the championship game on Saturday night and we’ve already predicted that the Trojans would win the coveted crown so we’ll stop here and we will let you guess wS's going to win the cheerleading award. We can hope Our Town’s cheerleaders will win though. After aS the above prediettag w won’t eran try to prodtet what the year 1965 wW taring. However, we do wish yra a voty happy New Year. North Webster And Milford Clash Satunlay Night The Trojans from Milford and North Webster will meet on the North Webster gym floor this coming Saturday night in a game just prior to SpSof tite 1965 Kosciusko countv tourzxnrocnt. Syracuse wffl travel to Oaypod on Saturday to play the tourney favorites. Leesburg will journey to Pierceton to play another favorite tourney team.
