Chief of police. Richard Shell, gave the November police report consisting of 94 calk. 18 complaints. 33 warnings. 16 arrests, fire accident investigations and directing of traffic during during 18 fires

TEACHERS’ PARTY About 70 teachers of the West Noble Schools enjoyed a Christmas party last Saturday night in the Cromwell caftferium. The dinner was served by cooks of the Cromwell school after which the teachers spent the evening socially. SKI CU B A skiing club students of lagonier in grades 7 through 12 is being started by Jerry Ganshom, industrial arts teacher. Gates, 73, were conducted at the Ulrey-Sedgwick funeral home in Ligonier, Monday, Dec. 14, at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Gates, a native of Berlin, Germany, died in the Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw, Saturday at 8 p.m. She was a retired telephone operator, and worked many years for the Ligonier Telephone Co. Her husband, Albert, died in 1945. She is survived by one son, John of Deerfield, 111.; three grandchildren; and one brother, Herman Weiss of Germany. Burial was in Oak Park cemetery. Ligonier. Silver Lake Wins Holiday Tourney The Silver Lake Ramblers won the holiday tourney played at the Warsaw Armory on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. On Tuesday night they defeated tby Tewhurg Blue Blazers IM? and on Wednesday they defeated favored Claypool 72-69. Leesburg played South Whitley in the consolation game and lost 86-81. Claypool had defeated Silver Lake Tuesday by a 104-91 score. Results of the Leesburg games foitow: Leesburg-Silver Lake Silver Lake dealt Leesburg a 7067 defeat Tuesday night. Leesburg trailed by one point 17-18 at the end of the first period of play and by four at half time 33-37. The Blue Blazers scored 20 points in the third quarter while Silver Lake netted 16 for a third period score of 53-53. Larry Bishop had 20 markers for the Blazers Pardee Gunter and Jack Stookcy was in the double figures for the Leesburg team with 15 and 10 points, respectively. MILFORD METHODIST CHOIRS HAVE CAROLING PARTY In keeipng with the religious meaning of the Christmas season, over 30 members and friends of the Milford Methodist church cherub choir, junior choir, and senior choir held a Christmas caroling party on Wednesday evening, Dec. 16. Leaving the church in cars driven by Mrs. Robert Arthur, Mrs. Joseph Gerencser, Mrs. Robert Brown, Mrs. Thomas Miller, Russell Ruch, and Lawrence Myers, the group caravaned to nine homes, including the Om nursing home, where traditional songs of Christmas were sung. Upon returning to the church the younger choirs had a newspaper scavenger hunt which led to much merriment. Candy canes were awarded to the winning team. Refreshments of hot cholocate and Christmas cookies served at tables festively decorated with gold tree centerpieces and colorful favors, were served by Mrs, Richard Felkner, Mrs. William Perry, Mrs. Harlan Wuthrich, and Mrs. Leon Newman.
