Santa Featured At - Silver Thimble Party One of the first lovely Christmas parties of the season was held Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, at Rubie's Party Home in Milford when forty members of the Silver Thimble club met for their annual dinner party. The tables at which the members found their places were beautifully appointed in the season's colors, with the theme of “Santa Claus” being carried out in the favors marking each place. large table from which a ham dinner was served buffet style was lighted with large red candles and centered with a floral arrangement of Christmas red mums and white pompons. The servings of pie were topped with miniature Santas on which were keywords later used in the distribution of gifts. All sang the doxology before the dinner. During a short business session conducted by the president, Mrs. Harlan Beer, after the dinner, plans were announced by Mrs. Robert Kaiser, chairman of the Christmas project committee. Milford American Legion Auxiliary Holds Christmas Meeting The December meeting of the Milford American Legion Auxiliary was preceded by a potluck supper Tuesday. Dec. 1. There were 34 members present. The hall was beautifully decorated for the holiday season by the social committee. Candles were on each table and a lighted Christmas tree was the centerpiece on the table for gifts. The regular business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Harold Freeman. Mrs. William Leemon and Mrs. Freeman reported on the second district meeting they attended with Mrs. Wade Mishler on November 18 at Earl Park. It was reported that the Veterans’ day program was well attended and the door prizes were won by William Burgett, Hugh Snyder, and Wade Mishler. I the Junior Auxiliary uas completed its project for the annual Christmas dinner. They formed Christmas trees out of Reader’s Digests and spray-painted them for centerpieces on the tables. Their Christmas party will be held on December 14. They will meet at the hall at 6:30 to go caroling before their party. Knightstown home chairman, Mrs. Harry Haab, reported she has sent the organization’s two-year-old child a present for Christmas and received an acknowledgement for it from the director of the home. The chorus members will meet for the last meeting of the year on December 8. There will be no more meetings until after January. All members are welcome to come and sing. -- Christmas Baskets Mrs. Robert Geiger has asked that all persons wishing to hdp again this year with the Christmas baskets for . the sick and needy contact her at her home.
