Mrs. Catherine Chupp Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. tomorrow (Friday) in the Rudy. Chupp residence located one mile south and one mile west of Nappanee for Mrs. Catherine (Katie) I Chupp, 77, Milford. I Mrs. Chupp died at 9p. m, Tues- ! day in the Goshen hospital following ! a stroke on Saturday. • The deceased was born in Rensselaer on October 26, 1887, to Daniel and Fanny Stutzman. ; She was married to Ira J. Chupp February 7, 1906. and he preceded . her in death on January 20, 1938, She I had resided in Milford for 40 years. Mrs, Chupp was a member of the Amish faith. Surviving are four sons, Monroe of r 2 Milford, Levi and Edward of Milford, Ira.. Jr., of Chatsworth, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Mose Hochstet- , ler of Nappanee and Mrs. Ralph Mill ler of Milford; 18 grandchildren and ; 18 great-grandchildren. Three daughters preceded her in death. Rev. Henry Yoder and Rev. Amos Graber will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Weldy cemetery west of Nappanee. Friends are being received in the Chupp residence in Milford Until the time of the services. Eli Mabie Eli Mabie, 78, of North Webster died at 5:30 a. m. Wednesday at the Hillcrest nursing home in Columbia City, where he had been a patient since November 9. Mr. Mabie was bom in Kosciusko countv on January 15, 1886, to John and Anna (Long 1 Mabie. He had resided in the North Webster community most of his life, moving to Columbia City in May of 1964. Mr. Mabie married Fannie Snoke in 1908 and she preceded him in death in March of 1924. He was a member of the Mock church at North Webster. I ' Surviving are four sons, Eugene of North Webster, Gerald of Ligonier, LaVon of Columbia City, and Orvan of Bristol: one brother, Benjamin Mabie of North Webster; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hart of North Webster; 12 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. One brother, a sister, land two daughters preceded him in 'death. , I Friends may call at the HarnsTroxel funeral home in North Webster after Friday noon until senice ' time Saturday. The sen ice will be conducted by Rev. Chester Reed at 2 . p. m. in the North Webster funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery. Albert Albert’Darkwood, 73, of 1180 Wil--5 low-dale Ave., Elkhart, a native of « Milford, died at approximately 2 II p.m. Monday of an apparent heart i attack, wiiile making a business ' call to the Veterans’ Administra- >- tiorr Offices on the fourth floor of the Monger Building in Elkhart. . The elevator was reportedly out of service. Mr. Darkwood was bom January 17. 1891, west of Milford, the son of Paul and Martlia Darkwood. He moved from Milford to Elkhart 27 years ago. He married Ethel Schuder on February 14, 11932. He was employed as a molder for the Eikliart Brass Canpany , for 17 years prior to his ment in i 960. A vetferan of >Vorld War I, Mr. Darkwood was a member of the Wade Harris Post 88 of Jthe VF W He was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Survivors include the widow; one son, John W’illiam of Elkhart; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at the home in Eikliart. Rev. Blair Laughlin. Syracuse, an employee of the State Bank of Syracuse, has been ill at his home. He is suffering from a blood clot and may undergo surgery soon.
