A short program will be held in the new’ gymnasium to begin the evenings activities. The parents and children will then be free to visit the rooms. Voters in the Town of Syracuse turned out in record numbers and Republican Mrs. Lois Schleeter was elected clerk-treasurer.

The McClintics brought back, Mrs. Adah Crow, who had been visiting with them. Other guests at the Crow home were Steve Crow and William Fisher of Warsaw. Mrs. Paul Bixler of Bloomington spent last week at the home of Mrs. Ella Unrue, Syracuse. Mrs. Bixler, a former Syracuse resident, called on several friends while she was in town. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce J. Hinkle, of Lake Wawasee have gone to Bradenton, Fla., to spend the winter months. Robert Insley, Syracuse, attended the training session in Mishawaka Wednesday evening. Indianapolis Church Is Scene Os Werner-Noel Wedding Saturday

The chapel of the Second Presbyterian church, Indianapolis, was the setting Saturday afternoon for the wedding of Miss Cynthia Arm Werner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard M. Werner. Goshen, and Richard Joseph Noel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Noel 11, also of Goshen. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. H. H. Sharp, of Milford. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor-length "gown of candle light peau de soie fashioned with a bateau neckline and bridal point sleeves. The bellshaped skirt ended in a Watteau train. Chantilly lace anti seed pearls accented the bodice and train. Her chapel-length veil of silk illusion was held by an ivory peau pillbox appliqued with seed pearls and lace. She carried a cascade of stephanotis and white orchids.

FIRE AT SYRACUSE TEXACO STATION FRIDAY MORNING Syracuse firemen answered a call to the Texaco Service Station at 11 a m. Friday, Oct. 30. The station is located on south Huntington street. Fire Destroys Lake Wawasee Home Wednesday The home of Mrs. Ella Lung on Morrison Island, Lyke Wawasee, was destroyed by fire at about 4.30 am. Wednesday, Oct. 28. A Ixxit house owned by Paul McArdle of Marion, and the cottage of E. J. Baker of .Fort Wayne were also damaged. Syracuse firemen estimated the damage at between s<’>goo and' $7,000. M.rs.
