Smith, Syracuse, is among new students enrolling at TriI State college, Angola, Indiana, at the opening of the fall quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Smith were guests of Dr. Richard M. Bateman, president of the college, at the Parents Day reception, opening the quarter. Enrolled in the School of business ! administration, Mr. Smith will be among “candidates for the Bachelor of Science degree upon completion of the course. He is a 1964 graduate of Syracuse high school. Tri-State college, founded at Angola. Ind., in 1884, grants Bachelor of science degrees in five branches of engineering and in three majors in business administration. Senior Mother’s Club Meets At Papakeechie Lake The Syracuse Senior Mother’s dub met at the home of Mrs. Deloss Smith at Papakeechie Lake, Monday, Oct. 5. Mrs. George Myers was the co-hostess. The president, Mrs. John W. Cripe presided and opened the meeting with the dub creed. A contribution was made to the Scout Cabin Board fund. Hie response to roll call was “A good book I remember reading years ago”. The program was presented by a guest, Mrs. Ronald Sharp, which was taken from the children’s books by Dr. Seuss, dosing with a poem by Longfellow. Wawasee, Inc., for injuries sustained in a skiing accident February 3, 1963. The suit charges negligence on the part of the owners for unsafe slopes and faulty equipment. In 1935 they returned to Chicago residing there until 1948 when they moved to Syracuse and owned and operated the Dixie Restaurant until their retirement. They have one son, Lional of Villa Park, 111., two grandchildren and twin great-grandsons. WMS HOLDS DISTRICT RALLY AT NAPPANEE The Nappanee and Milford WMS groups were co-hostesses for the Indiana district rally of the Women’s Missionary Society at the First Brethren church in Nappanee oh Thursday, Oct. 8, The morning session featured guest speaker. Miss Margaret Low- | ery of Krypton. Ky. A smorgasbord salad luncheon was served at the new Presbyterian | church near Nappanee to the 189 registered guests coming from the | Dutchtown, Goshen. Warsaw, Brithton. New Paris, Nappanee, Milford, and Bryan, 0.; churches. The afternoon session convened at 1:30 and featured Mrs. Richard Stahl of Huntington as speaker. BIRTHDAY DINNER GIVEN Mr. and Mrs. Bill S. Betes and son. Bob. and Mr. and Mrs. William Pipp and son, Bill, of Syracuse entertained at a dinner for their mother Mrs. S. F. Betes at lier home.
