Sept 13, at Crosson’s park. Firemen and their families enjoyed a potluck dinner at noon w ith the department members furnishing the chicken. Guests were Mattie Jones. Mr and Mrs. Loren Longenbaugh and son. Mr. and Mrs. J. Barton Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Poyser. The afternoon was spent socially and tlx» ! children were taken for rides on the fire trucks. ■

Tuesday. Gerald Cramer, r 1 entered the Goshen hospital, Monday Sept. 14. Milford Victor In Cross Country Stan Stump, senior captain of the Trojan harriers, led his teammates to an impressive victory’ over Silver Tueday night. Stump ran the course in a time of 8:50, and led thirty-eight nmners all the way to bring home first place honors. The Trojans had six of the top seven runner and. scored an impressive team victory over the Rambler, 16 to 43. ft was. the second victory of the Trojans as they had defeated Leeburg last week, while suffering one loss to I a strong South Whitly team. Dick Groves, Dennis Wuthrich, and Mike Miller, a promising freshI man, followed closely on the heels |of Stump to sweep the first four es for Milford. Dan Davis of ■ Silver Lake led his team to a fifth place finish. Ned and Ted Speicher competed strongly for sixth place, with Ned outdistancing his younger brother in the final stages of the race. Mr. and Mrs. Heihert Stump and family of Milford recently returned from a trip to Detroit, Ford’s Greenfield Village and Canada. Phil Weisser, a student at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Weisser of near Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Wuthrich and daughter Rebecca Jo have returned from a trip to Montana where they visited Mrs. Wuthrich’s brother. George Knee, and family.
