Anna Bowers WHU Meets At Kuhn Home The Anna Bowers WCTU met on Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Alfred Kuhn. There were seventeen in attendance including a guest, Mrs. Clara Passwater of Decatur, Indiana. Meditations were given by Mrs. Kuhn. Program guide books were distributed by the president, Mrs. Orva Miller. Various means of attaining new members were discussed. Mrs. Passwater who is 79 years old, entertained with the recitation of a lengthy ballad type poem. Following the meeting, the hostess served ice cream and cake. Mrs. Ruth Rothenberger will entertain hi her home for the October meeting. | George Warble To Be Stationed Near Tokyo Sgt. George Warble and his family spent two weeks with his parents before leaving August 21 for California where he will embark for a three vear tour of duty in Japan. He will be stationed near Tokyo. George has been serving in the .Army Air Force since 1948. Work has been received by relatives here that Sgt. Warble and h:s fam.lv called on Sgt. and Mrs. Malcolm’Beezley in Glendale, Arizona enroute to California. Sgt. Beezley enlisted shortly after Sg-. Warble entered the service and the two had not seen each other since 1962. Beezley Reunion At Pioneer Trails Sunday The annual Beeley reunion was held Sunoay at the Pioneer Trails Boy Scout Camp. Approximately seventy-five attended. Entertainment provided by a number of the youngsters included a piano solo by Lisa Rood, vocal solos by Sally Knecht. Susie Beeley and Bob Knecht and a white elephant auction with Cyril Likens as auctioneer. . New officers elected are Charles Scott, president and Mrs. Charles Scott, secretary and treasurer. COMMUNITY NEWS Mrs. James Gullett and son, Jimmy are visiting relatives and friends in this community. Mr. Gullett is expected to arrive sometime this weekend to join his family and ' visit about a week between sessions at Indiana university where he is a law student. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Riggsby of Upland, California spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Richwire after visiting their son in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Riggsby and Mrs. Richwine are sister. On their return home they called on Mr. and Mrs. Ken Kilmer at Col-1 limbus. Nebraska. Mrs. Kilmer is Mr. Richwine's daughter whom the, Riggsbys had never met. Mrs. Rita Schmidt and children I are spending this week with her i parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Krouse. Miss Karleen Richards is spending this week with her sister-in- [ law and children while her brother | David, is working at Monticello, ' Indiana. ASC Elections On September 9 The. annual Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation township elections will be held on September 9at Bp. m.
