Senator Hartke Speaks At Cannelton Rally TELL CITY — Senator Vance Hartke said Monday that water development in Indiana is a “fine testimony to the progress which re- j suits when local, state, and national governments work together”. The Hoosier lawmaker spoke at a Cannelton rally after he was interviewed by three Tell City ladies for the “Ask Senator Hartke" radio show. The hard-driving Senator visited Jeffersonville, New Albany, Salem, Seymour, North Vernon, and Muncie Tuesday. His campaign “Communicade”, now four days old, has already stopped in Indianapolis, Anderson, Portland, Greencastle, Fontanet, Terre Haute, Sullivan, Vincennes, Princeton. Washintgon. Mount Vernon, Boonville, and Jasper. “We are mastering the Great Ohio River", Senator Hartke said, “because we recognized the vital needs of flood control and navigation. We built and are building new locks, dams, and levees. Funds for these projects have increased three-fold. Since I came to office, the Ohio is becoming an American Ruhr and recreational mecca". The “Communicade” will continue through Sept 9. By that time Senator Hartke will have met a million Hoosiers in a series of rallies, receptions, and radio panel programs in forty Indiana counties.
