UVTZ FAMILY REUNION HELD The Lantz family •Veunkrn was held Sunday, June 7, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ditmer, with 56 in attendance. Those attending from Syracuse were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lantz and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rehrer. Others attending were from Topeka, Goshen, Roanoke, Rome City, Huntington and LaGrange.

Summer Recreation At Milford Off To Good Start The afternoon recreation program at Milford has shown increased growth this year. ‘On Monday, the first day, Vick ; Fuller had 60 girls and Arlo Beis wanger had 50 boys. Mr. Beiswang er has 90 boys assigned to evening baseball. All the girls meet on Wednesday to go out of town, so there will be no Boys’ club that day. The boys i will go miniature golfing on Friday. The opening Little League game was won by Sharp's Dodgers, 34-11, over Augsburger’s Cards. John Hamilton was the winning pitcher. Home j runs were hit by Jay Anglin and Hamilton. Mrs. Porter lived in Limberlost Cabin. Geneva, until 1913, then supervised construction of a new home of 14 rooms in Wildflower Woods. Sylvan Lake, residing there until 1923, when she left Indiana permanently because of failing health and built a home on Catalina Island off i the coast of California.

Mrs. Gordon I Fish was a guest. | Mrs. Don Davidsen presided at • the business meeting and discus- ’ sions. Pledge to the flag was given and song df the month “Annie Laurie” was sung in unison. Re- | sponse to roll call was “My blunder as a bride” which afforded t much amusement and reminiscing in the group. An informative and interesting questionaire on Indiana was given by Mrs. Glenn Brown. Mrs. Brown brought out many interesting facts our own state of Indiana and pointed out the many and varied places of interest to see here and nearby. Chib Lesson Mrs. Harold Wilson gave the lesson on “Pesticides and Insecticides” and cautioned all to read the directions very carefully be--1 fore using either. Also she pointed out that such articles should ibe stored outside the home. All I food, fish bowls, etc., should be covered before using since many of them are poisonous. v Members of the club will be I present at the cltib exhibit at the *WHinty fair. Town and Country will exhibit next year. Mrs. Martin served delicious lemon special cake and coffee for dessert. June 9. at the home of Mrs. Douglas Yoder. Several girls' > gave demonstrations. HEX RURAL H. D. CLUB HAS LESSON ON FREEZING, CANNING The Hex Rural Home Demon* stration club met Tuesday afternoon, June 2, at the Hex Grange hall for the June meeting. Mrs. Merle Darr, president, presided and opened the meeting with the club creed. j Mrs. Ernest Richards presented the project lesson on Freezing and Canning. Mrs. Ethel Grubb gave the devotions and Mrs. Orley Brown gave the history of the song of the month “Annie Laurie” and accompanied at the piano for group singing. The health and safety remarks on “pesticides” were given by Mrs. Gene Mock. The meeting closed with the club prayer. Hostesses were Mrs. Herbert Blue and Mrs. Ethel Grubb.
