First Flotilla Meeting At 7:30 Tonight
The first meeting of the Lake Wawasee Flotilla committee will be held at the Pickwick Lounge in downtown Syracuse at 7:30 tonight Thursday* to finalize plans for the annual Father’s Day classic. Milford OES Has June Meeting The Kosciusko Chapter No. 160 Order of the Eastern Star met for I its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, June 3, at the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Wilbur Baumgartner prei sided in the east. During the meeting Mrs. Richard Sumner was ! installed as Adah. The past matrons and patrons , were special guests. After the business meeting all retired to the dining room where refreshments were served. During the social hour a very interesting and informative skit concerning the past matrons and patrons was given by several of the officers. Inspection will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Goshen. — DONNA RUCH GRADUATES FROM INDIANA STATE Miss Donna Ruch; daughter of Mrs. Bernice Ruch of Milford, was among the 1.800 students at Indiana State college at Terre Haute to receive degrees at the 93rd Commencement exercise. Miss Ruch completed her school work at the college in February and has been teaching school in Hammond. She received a bachelor of science degree in element y education. Those attending the commencement exercises from the Milford area were Max Ruch. Mrs. Vera Whisler. Gonnie Biller and Joe Judkins. Jr.~Mrs. Guy Smith of New Paris also attended. Merton Bushongs Give Surprise Party Mr. and Mrs. Merton Bushong. Syracuse, entertained at a surprise birthday party Tuesday evening. June 2, for Mrs. Elmer Baugher of near North Webster. RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP — Michael Rigdon, who graduated May 30 from Purdue universtiy I has accepted a fellowship for study in the school of metallurgical engineering at Purdue. He was president of the Indiana Beta chapter of Alpha Sigma Mu, National honorary Metallurgical fraternity. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Rigdon of Lake Wawasee. SUSAN BACHMAN TO " GRADUATE JUNE 7 Miss Susan Bachman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hilary Bachman of Syracuse, will graduate June 7 from Butler university in Indianapolis. She will receive her AB degree in sociology. She is currently serving as counselor in the women's residence hall and on the judiciary board. | WLXS SCHOLARSHIP — Earleen ■ Fisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I Noble A. Fisher of r 2 Miliord, was notified this week that she had been awarded the Murphy College Fund Scholarship sponsored by Mrs. Hazel Murphy of Warsaw in memory of her late husband. Dr. Samuel C. Murphy. There were 21 applicants for the scholarship which is worth $250 and may be applied for the next year. Only five scholarships were awarded. Applicants are judged on their grades, religious background, leadership qualities, and high moral character. Earleen was the valedictorian of her 1964 graduating class at Milford. She also received a scholarship sponsored by the Milford Parent-Teach-ers Organization and one for her rank as valedictorian of the graduating class to Indiana university.

Syracuse People Attend Wedding Os Former Residents Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Newcomer and son Paul, Syracuse, accompanied by Mrs. Newcomer’s aunt, Mrs. Helen Clingerman of North Webster, spent Saturday, May 30. in Fort Wayne in the home of another aunt, Mrs. Alex Sakowicz and family. Also a guest was their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Kate Snavely of Fort Wayne. In the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Newcomer attended the wedding of Miss Sharon Kay Tauber to Howard Zurbrigg. Hie wedding took place in the EUB church. Miss Tadoer is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Carl Tauber of Fort Wayne, formerly of Syracuse.
