Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club Holds First Meeting Os Year j Syracuse-Wawasee Garden c1 u b met for its first meeting of 1964 in the home of Mrs. Carl R. Reynolds on Tuesday evening at 7 p. m. * The president held a business meeting and welcomed all back fur another year of interesting activities. The secretary, Mrs. Ernest E. Bushong, read the Nov. 5 and Dec. 3 minutes. Mrs. John A. Craw, treas-. urer, gave her report. A nominating committee was appointed. On the committee are Miss Irene Abts, chairman, Mrs. Bushong 1 and Mrs. Craw. They will preesnt their slate at the June meeting. Mrs. Arthur C. Schrader, who was a guest of garden shows at the Boea Raton and Pompano Beach shows this last winter, described the beauty and elegance of her visits. Plans for the May 12 meeting were discussed. This is to be guest night in the home of Mrs. Nelson A. Miles. Mrs. Brent Gail of Nappanee will demonstrate and give a talk on artificial flower arrangements. The meeting was then adjourned. TO STUDY RACE PROBLEM AT METHODIST CHURCH Hie Christian Social Concerns Commission of the Syracuse Methodist church will sponsor a study on the practical»aspects of the race problem with “Letter from Birmingham City Jail” by Martin Luther King, Jr., as the focal point. The meeting will be on Sunday. May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church. Study and discussion will be led by Rev. J. Ross Richey. The public is cordially invited to attend.
