UP WE GO — The tall man wins in a rebound jump like this one. Milford’s tall Marion Groves and Jack McClintic are going up

Here's Why... s Basketball fans wonder why a player, sensing the gun about to go off, will heave the ban in a reckless manner toward his basket. Thej’ found out Friday night in the second team game between Milford and North Webster, played in the Milford gym. With bare seconds to go in the third quarter, Milford s Jerry Wilson had the ball, and gave it a dizzying toes toward his basket, a full three-quarter length of the floor. . , . And. 10, you guessed ft! The ball went right through the hoop for two points! No one was more surprised than Jerry.

Milford Tops North Webster Friday 87*58 By JOSEPH JESSOP The Trojans won their fifth game in a row last Friday night by knocking off North Webster 87-58 in the Milford gym. The North Webster Trojans were the first to score but that didn t last long. Milford had its ■ fast break working and the floor shook with the running of Tom Holderread and Mike Zimmerman. There were four Trojans in double figures with Marion Groves taking all scoring honors for the night with 16 points. North Webster made a total of 31 fouls while Milford made only 10. Free throw hitting hasn’t been one of our high points , this year but Marion Groves tried to even things up by hitting 10 out of 10. The rest of the Trojans were not as. lucky as we still missed 14. Mifford went into the county tourney Tuesday night with an eight and three record. The only team in the tournament which has a better record than Milford’s is Claypool, 11-1, The only game. Claypool lost was to Milford. If the Trojans can make it to the finals they will undoubtedly have to play ClaypooL That would be the I game of the season. Box scores follow: MILFORD (87) — Raker 301.
