Hurd was elected president of the Sorosis club on Monday evening at the meeting held at the home of. Mrs. Harry R. Eighteen members of the Queen Esther society met at the home of Mrs. Herbert Baumgartner Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grove and family of the New Salem community spent Saturday afternoon at the Roland Ferverda home at Beaver Dam. Miss Betty Ann Cunningham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Cunningham, will act as an advertising solicitor on the Ball State 4 News, weekly student .publication at Ball State Teachers college at Muncie. 30 YEARS AGO, JAN. 11, 1934 Charles Theodore Kleder, 84, died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Motto, at Winona Lake. Mr. Kleder operated a restaurant in Milford from 1885 until 1923 when he and his wife retired to live in their new residence on south Main street. , Approximately 350 fishing and v hunting licenses for 1934 haVe* already been sold in the county. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cory entertained Clinton Callandef, Betty and Elmo, and their housekeeper, Miss Emma Helmuth, nee, at dinner Sunday. Mrs. Bertha Hastings was hostess to the Columbian Reading Circle on Monday evening, the re- - sponses to roll call being New Year’s resolutions.
