i Yule Party Enjoyed ; By Home Arts Club J The Home Arts club of Milford S held its annual Christmas party “• at Howard’s south of Syracuse on { Tuesday, Dec. 10. •» $ Seventeen members and two 5 guests enjoyed the smorgasbord J dinner. The dining room was decs orated in keeping with the Christs mas season. The table was adorned 5 with green fern and red roses as 5 centerpieces. Red rose place cards 5 were also used. creed. Retiring president Miller then turned the meeting over to the newly installed president McFarren, who read a list of committees, leaders and lessons to be taken for the year. She then turned the meeting over to the Christmas committee. Chairman Mrs. Robert Overstedt read a story entitled “The Before Christmas Story”, followed by a benediction taken from Hebrews by Mrs. Edward Jonasch after which all joined in repeating The Lord’s Prayer. All enjoyed a Christmas exchange revealing secret pals of last year. Those serving on the 'committeewere Mesdames Overstedt, Jonasch, Disher, E. C. Hamm, and William Fadely. SYRACUSE JP LEVIES FINES Injustice of the peace Chris Koher’s court from November 18 to December 10, seven fines were levied, two from Syracuse. Robert Phillip Otis, Syracuse, paid $18.75 for improper registration, and $18.75 fpr driving on beginner’s permit without a licensed driver, and Gerald W. Wolfinger paid $18.?5 for improper left turn. Others fined were Michael Heyde, Elkhart, $18.75, improper passing; Clifton J. Hart, Elkhart, $18.75, improper registration; Rex K. Hostetler, North Webster, $lB. J 5 disregarding stoplight; Larry J. Spry, North Webster, $18.75, improper registration; and Bryan Lee Butler, Goshen, $19.75 for speeding. '

Syracuse BPW Has Yule Dinner Party The Business and Professional Women’s club at Syracuse held its December meeting and Christmas party last Tuesday evening at Howard’s. Tables were decorated in the holiday theme. Mrs. Louise Connolly gave the table grace. The business session was conducted by the vice president, Mrs. R. C. Tytler. There was an exchange of Christmas gifts and for the program Miss Ethel Bowser read a Christmas story, “A String of Bide, Beads”. Miss Carlson won the door prize. The hostess committee was composed of Mrs. Noble Blocker, Mrs. Robert Murray, Mrs. John Craw, and Mrs. Lyle Kell. There were 34 members and four guests, Mrs. John Rieth of Goshen, -Mrs. Ruth Whitcomb, Miss Dorothy Carlson, and Miss Becky Ann Thomas, present. Annual Miller Christmas Dinner Held Sunday The annual Christmas dinner of the late L. W. Miller family was held at the Benton hall Sunday, Dec. 15, with 33 present. A dinner was served at noon and Santa gave gifts to everyone. Those present were Russell Miller and ‘ daughters, Ann and Sandra, of Gas City; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Miller of Jonesboro; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller of Kendallville; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller and daughter, Joyce, of Goshen. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Miller of Goshen; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Helmuth and daughter of Goshen; Sherry, Debra, Dave, and Steve Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haines and son of Milford; Mrs. Bill Darr and children, Dan, Dennis, Dixie ,and Debra, Mrs. Elly Blakesby, Mr. and Mrs, John Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Darr, all of Syracuse.
