Outstanding Christmas Program At Milford School Tuesday Night
The combined chorus of fifth,' sixth/-seventh, and eighth graders under the direction of Mrs. Justin Kneeland opened the annual Christmas program at the Milford community building on Tuesday evening with the singing of “Jingle Bells”, “Silver Bells”, and “Deck the Halls” while a spotlight was played on a large drawing of a ‘•one horse open sleigh” on the stage. A capacity crowd was present" despite the (-bld, wintry evening. This was followed by the jumOr h choir under Mrs. Kneeland's direction, presenting ‘-‘There’s A ; Star in the East”, “I Saw Three Ships”:, and “Chorus of the Bells”.. Th!; was .an. exceptionally fine r. nt at ion .by-the junior,-high choir. Their rendition of the last of the three songs was more like that of an older group. The combin -<.l chorus sang “Silent'Night” and then Vicki Mehl, Charles Fox, Don Steffen, and Becky Brown dressed as Bible < • sit-r.g "In the Night”. This was followed by-ttie combined chorus. singing “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Joy to the World” while the manger scene was. portrayed on the stage. Dan Beer was reader of the Christmas story from the Bible. - ' The first' part of the program closed with the singing of “O Holy Night” with Joan Felkner as soloist. The accompanist for this part of the program was Paula Burgett. High School The high school students and chorus under the direction of Joseph Judkins did their usual good job on their portion of the program. During the fun part nine seniors presented “The Christmas | Alphabet”. Connie Hartter was a last minute substitute for Kenneth

Six high-school couples sat around the stage reading and were later joined by “their children who were dressed in pajamas. The children were Bougie, 3-year-old son of Mr. and ‘lJrs. Fred Weisser; Rusty. 6-year-old son of Rev. and Mrs. Robert Perkins; Ron, 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ca 1toii Beer; Jeff, 4-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs, Robert Hoerr; Ang--5,y.-ar-bld ' daughter of Mr. and Mrs- ' Kurman Jessop;' and | Shay and Renee, first graders, who are the twin daughters of Mr. and Mr's. This was followed by the high school chorus dressed in their robes proceed- i ing to the stage area by candle- : light while singing “O Come All ] Ye Faithful”. “Behold That Star”, ; a spiritual, was well presented by 1 the chorus as was “The' Little I Drummer Boy”. Larry Hoover as soloist on “Birthday of a King” and Sharron Moneyheffer as sol- | oist on “Jesu Bambino” added to 1 this part of the program. I The program was completed; with the “living Christmas tree” j and the annual presentation of i “Stille Nacht” and "O Tannen-1 baum”. ENTERTAIN AT BRIDAL SHOWER Mrs. Harold Geiger of Waubee Lake entertained at a bridal; shower last Friday' evening in honor of Mrs. James Rummel. Mrs. Gail Geiger served as cohostess. Decorations used for the evening followed the Christmas theme. | White bells were also used. Market St., Warsaw, are 1 parents of a son born Monday at , 9:07 p. m. at Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. The infant weighed five pounds, eleven ounces. The mother is the former Carolee I Jones. ATTEND FUNERAL IN WOLCOTTVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pfingst of Syracuse attended the funeral of Ray Kingsley on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Williams funeral home at Wolcottville, Ind. MT. Kingsley was a brother of Mrs. Pfingst and was well known in Syracuse. He was 90 years old on the 11th of September and was a patient in the LeGrange County hospital for three months where he passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10. Interment was in the East Springfield cemetery in LaGrange County. » JAMES STUCKMAN TO PRESENT PROGRAMS IN AREA CHURCHES James Stuckman of Milford will present a slide program at two churches in the Milford area during the month of January. On Sunday, Jan. 12, he will show' his slides at the evening services ’ at the Milford Christian church. He will present another program at the New Salem Church of the Brethren on Thursday, Jan. 16. SIZENTNER CONCERT AT SYRACUSE HIGH SCHOOL The Sr-Zentner band played a concert for the “Syracuse high school students’ on Wednesday afternoon of this week. The band was in the area for an appearance, at the Pickwick. The concert was sponsored > by Lakeland Motors, Bill Peters of Ogden Island, and “Snort” Me Cormick of McCormick-Cutt'er Chevrolet. MILFORD FELLOWSHIP CLASS HAS YULE PARTY Members of the Fellowship class of the Milford Christian church met last Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Ramser for their annual Christmas party. The meeting was following the church’s Sunday evening services. TOM SMITH REPORTS THEFT FROM CAR TRUNK Tom Smith, of Lake Papakeechie reported to the Kosciusko, county sheriff’s office that on Dec. 11 some one had pried open the trunk of the auto and had taken a transmsision assembly. . Mr. Smith gave no value of the assembly. MILFORD FIRST BRETHREN YOUTH TO HAVE YULE PARTY | The senior youth of the First ' Brethren church of Milford will meet at the home of Rev. and Mrs. ' Frank Barker prior to the church’s candlelight service on Christmas eve for their Christmas party. On the committee are Kathy Wolferman, Rick Barker, and Darrell Custer. Brethren Youth Go Caroling The junior youth of *the First Brethren church of Milford went ■ caroling last week. Fifteen mem--1 bers and two sponsors, Mis. Paul Matthews and Mrs. Frank Barker, I composed the group.
