Deaths Mrs. Ida Taylor, 92, Dies At Warsaw Nursing Home Mrs. Ida Taylor, 92, of Milford, died Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Prair-ie-View rest home at Warsaw where she had resided since October 26. Death was due to complications. Mrs. Taylor had resided with her nephew, the late James A. Fields of Milford, before moving to the fest home. Mr. Fields passed away Oct. 26, 1963. Mrs. Taylor was born March 6, 1871, in Marshall county, the daughter of John and Kathryn (Krumaluf) Fields. She was married to the late Fred Taylor. She was a member of the Methodist church at White Cloud, Mich. Survivors include one brother, Edward Fields of Elkhart, aric! one niece. Mrs. Noble W. Neff of Milford. Friends may call at the Mishler funeral home iff Milford after 2 p. m. Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Milford funeral home with Rev. Raymond Wilson officiating. Burial'will be in the Leesburg, cemetery. . . WRC Has Christmas Party And Election Syracuse Women’s Relief Corps, John C. Adams chapter 278, met at the Legion hall Monday for a potluck supper at 6:30. There was a gift exchange with 27 present. After the supper the regular meeting was held with president, Mrs. Lee Poyser, presiding. There was an election of officers held with the following being re-e---lected: Mrs. Lee Poyser, president; Mrs. Lossie Rinker, vice president; junior, Mrs. Emory Guy; chaplain, Mrs. Estella Swartz; treasurer, Mrs. Frank Bates; sec-, retary, Mrs. Ethel *Grubb; eonductor, Mrs. John Crow'; and guard, Mrs. Nelle Sloan. Mrs. Robert Buster is the newly elected press correspondent. The next meeting will be Jan. 6 with installation of officers. HEX GRANGE HAS POTLUCK DINNER . Hex home demonstration club met Tuesday at the Grange hall for a potluck dinner. Mrs. Ernest Richards, president, presided. There was group singing of two songs, “It Came Upon the' Midnight Clear’’ and “Silent Night,” with Mrs. Orlie Brown at the piano. > The roll call response was “Something for the Christmas Piogram’T The lesson by Mrs. Don Scheline was “Teaching Children Value”. There was a gift exchange to learn the identity of secret pals. The hostesses were Mrs. Richard Workman and Mrs. Theodore Vorhis. Ulika Prince Burke Beth 51312 65, a two-year-old owned by Harold Wilson, Milford, produced 15, 480 pounds of milk and 677 pounds of butterfat in 305 days. Harest Pica Creator Lilly 460 1903, a five-yegr-old owned by Harold and Carl Gawthrop of Etna Green produced 13,823 pounds of milk and 580 pounds of butterfat in 279 days. According to the national Holstein organization, the new production figures compare to an annual output of 7,211 pounds of milk and 270 pounds of butterfat by the average United States .dairy , cow. Purdue university supervised the weighing and testing of the Holstein records as part of the breed's nation-wide .testing programs. Garden Club Has Last Meeting Os Year The Syracuse-Wawasee Garden club held a Christmas guest meeting Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the home of Mrs. Arthur C. Schrader. A skillful demonstration of flow- j er arranging was done by Robert | Reed of Veesey Flowers, Fort Wayne, to the enjoyment of the 36 members and guests present. This conclude the club’s activities for 1963. The club will convene in April, 1964. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. Robert J. Mauzy and Miss Irene Abts. Court News Ralph Moore Sole Heir Ralph Moore, Syracuse, is sole heir of an estate estimated at $190,000 left by his wife, Louise, 77, who died on Nov. 19. The will dated Dec. 22, 1958, lists Mr. Moore as executor. Mrs. Moore, a lifetime resident of Syracuse, left an estimated SIOO,OOO in personal property and $90,000 in real estate. Inheritance Determined ■ The inheritance on the estate of the late Perry Metzger of Leesburg has been determined. Heirs are the widow, Clara, $1,813.23; sons, John of Albion, Donald of Silver Lake, Joe of r 2 Pierceton, and Paul of Tremonton, Ut., each $2,272.73; granddaughters, Loraine Reader of Fort Wayne, Janice Wolfe of Pierceton, each $598.08, and Diane Taylor of Ligonier, $598.09. Mr. Metzger died April 11, 1962. Friendship Class Has Christmas Dinner The Friendship class Os Bethel church at Milford observed the Christmas season with a potluck dinner and gift exchange at the church Sunday. Ham was the main dish with each family furnishing additional food. The president, Worth Jackson, presided over the business session. This group is buying paint for the new classroom dividers; the young people are planning to do the actual work of painting. Plans for raising money for the building project include a silentF, auction scheduled for the January meeting and an ice cream social for one of the sumpier months. The planters at the church are the gift of this class, anm also Its responsibility. Mrs. Oliver Reblogle reported that tulips pad peen planted in preparation the spring season. During the month of December a different members of the class j will teach each Sunday while, plans are undeway for the reorganization of the adult classes. Twenty-one adults and 35 children were present for this meeting. » Robert Hurd Elected Worthy Master Os Milford Masons . Robert Hurd was elected worthy master of.the Milford Masons on Tuesday evening at the past masters meeting at the Masonic temple. A carry-in supper was served. Other officers elected were Joe Estep, senior warden; Ed Huber, junior warden; Bob Ruch, treasurer: secretary, Arlo Beiswanger; and Marshall Estep, trustee for a term of three years. Syracuse Methodist Youth Take Tour The youth of the Syracuse Methdoist church recently toured the Northern Indiana Conference area. They visited missionary projects, churches and hospitals. Making the tour were Lynn Pittman, Marcia Richey, Elaine Koher, Chi'istian Koher, Jr., Fritz Hann, Pam Coburn, Sherel Peffley, and Susan Fry.. Jane Cecil, another of the youths, attended Yo-Pe-Mi camp at Epworth Heights, North Webster, on the same day.

I CANASTA CLUB HAS CHRISTMAS DINNER Members of the Sunday Night Canasta club and guests met at Ruble's at Milford Sunday evening, Dec. 1, for a swiss steak supper. C. — Marine Staff Sergeant R. T. Eckley, son of Glen L. Eckley of r 1 Leesburg, is serving with Marine Composite Reconnaissance Squadron Two, a unit of the Second Marine Aircraft Wing at the 1 Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N. C. The squadron provides photographic and electronic reconnaissance for the Fleet Marine Force operations. Bible Class Has Thanksgiving Supper The Bible class of the Syracuse Church of the Brethren met Monday evening, Nov. 25, at the church for a Thanksgiving supper and program. Mrs. Artie Long was chairman. Following supper the teacher, Mrs. Leonard Barnhart, presented a program on the life pf Mahalla Jackson and played some of Miss Jackson’s recordings. Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Wagoner and Miss Lillian Hamman were guests. Civil Defense To Sell Cookies The Syracuse Civil Defense unit members will begin selling cookies this week, it was reported. The unit is in need of an air compressor to be used by the scuba divers, the cost of such a compressor is about SI,OOO. The unit also needs a small boat, motor, and trailer. Corp. Connolly Will Return To Camp Pendleton Corporal E 4 Patrick Connolly will return to Camp Pendleton, Calif., this week after spending a week in Syracuse visiting relatives and friends. Corp. Connolly is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Connolly of Syracuse. DAHLQUIST DAUGHTER Mr. and Mrs. Herbert L. Dahlquist of 1028 east Market street, Warsaw, are the parents of a daughter born at 10:50 p. .m, Monday, Dec. 2, at Murphy Medical Center. The baby tipped the scales at 5 pounds, ounces. The mother is the former Judy Mollenhour. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dahlquist of Leesburg, and Donald Mollenhour of Warsaw is the maternal grandfather.

RETURNS FROM TOUR OF DUTY IN GERMANY Airman First Class Charles E. Schlabach returned recently from a four year tour of duty in Germany. Airman Schlabach graduated with the class of 1956 of Syracuse high school and enlisted in the Air Force in September of that year. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James McClintic. Airman Schlabach was stationed with the 49th tactical fighter wing at Spangdahlem air base while in Germany. The base is located 20 miles north of Trier. He will report to Travis Air Force in California the first of the year, Before going to Germany he spent eight months on the Eniwetok Islands in the Pacific. Church Os God Fellowship Class Meets The Fellowship class of the Syracuse Church of God met Tuesday evening at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Albert Troup. Mrs. Lulu Eirhart led in prayer and Rev. and Mrs. Troup served supper to their guests. Rev. Walter Williams presided at the meeting. Mrs. Williams gave a prayer. Mrs. James Druckamiller gave the devotions. She read scripture verses and gave comments on love and the Christmas spirit and giving in the spirit of love. At the close of the business meeting Melvin Niles dismissed with prayer. Gifts were exchanged. The next meeting will be with Mr. and Mrs. James Druckamiller on January 21. • Syracuse Church Os God To Have Revival Rev. James McKibben has announced that on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7:30, evangelistic services will begin at the Syracuse Church of God, and continue each evening through Dec. 22. There will be a lesson each evening for the children. Rev. and Mrs. Walter Williams are . the song evangelists. Pastor McKibben will bring the message. The public is invited to attend any or all of these services and enjoy the spiritual songs and messages at this pre-Christmas season. The Komets will have their work cut out for them Saturday night with the Windsor team who has just returned from a playing tour of Russia. The Komets have not been able to beat the Windsor team this year.
