Postmasters Signal Start Os '63 Yule Mail Rush December 1 marked the start of one of the biggest and toughest races in town - the annual race against time at the Lakeland post offices as its Christmas mail rush went into high gear, postmasters noted today. SATTERFIELD Past President (1961-62) of The American Bar Association All Americans were stunned with horror and c! 'relief when they learned that the P e dent of the United States ha’, bo n struck down by an assass n’s bullet. We are now joined in .sorrow and deep mourning for out P: icl ent, stricken in the prime cf his life, during the culmination of years of service to our country. A man of coinage, conviction and dedication, he had the admiration and respect of ajl citizens of the United States. It is the genius of America that we may differ with each other upon Constitutional Principles, Public Issues and Politics, and yet recognize the sincerity and honesty of those with whom we most strongly disagree.
It is our prayer today that God may bring comfort to President , Kennedy’s bereaved family in their hour of grief, that He may bring strength and wisdom to President Johnson who will carry the torch of freedom onward, and that He j may unite all Americans in lead-1 ing the world to attain the goal that has been ours since we became a nation —. liberty under the law for all people. Today, in spite of the shock and, sorrow which we shall never forget, we must continue our service as citizens of the United States of America. We must face those issues which are before us with courage and foresight and patience. The sadness which is in our hearts will help us to remember that in free America, we can disagree Without being disagreeable, we can stand for our convictions and work untiringly; to maintain them, and yet respect those whom we believe to be in' error. • , Syrens: Thanksgiving Personals Mrs. Opal Nolan- and daughter ■ Joy were Thanksgiving dinner! guests, of the Harry L.
