Milford Business League Highlights Turf Bar II continued their hold on first place in the Milford business league with a three win, one lost performance Tuesday evening, James Speicher spearheaded, their winning effort and his own 170 plus bowling with a well earned balanced 548. Lewis Hare (546) and Delbert Dippon (544) , Oliver Repl ogle (513) proved too much for Mishler Funeral Home as they finished their evening’s work with a three and one record to continue to press tile league leaders. Chore-Time’s Burl Warren registered the first 500 series of his life as he toiled thru a 504 series against Litle and Clark. Bill Littel captured individual honors, game and series wise, as he cashed in on the first 600 series of his life with games of 183-204-221. Little’s teammates combined to take team games high with a 927 and weekly series high with 2535. Oliver Replogle’s 513 was spun with the evening’s largest increase between high and low games —a 72 pin spread — gained as a result of an opening game of 141 and a close-out. game of 213. Crying towel prizes for the evening went to Brock for their game of 604 and series of 1930 and to Kerry Boggs’ single game total of 94 stubborn pins.

Syracuse Loses Third In Row The Leesburg Blue Blazers proved to be too much for the Syracuse team Friday night. Leesburg won the game by 14 points, 6046. Again Syracuse couldn’t seem to find the basket. In the last quarter Syracuse scored only 11 points to Leesburg’s 18 points. The 3d quarter was just as bad with Leesburg scoring 19 and Syracuse scoring 13. Syracuse was behind by 1 point at half-time. The Syracuse B-team won a thriller 59-58 in an overtime. LOCAL BOWLERS TO SOUTH BEND Two area teams went to the O’Brien bowling tournament at the Beacon Bowl in South Bend last week end. Their team scratch was 2488 and the handicap score was 2956. Individual game scores with the handicap were 1035-980-941. Members of the Klink’s Market team are as follows: Jeannie Sechrist, Wava Finton, Betty Nyce, Grace Eyer and Ethel Hughs. The team score was 2868 and the individual game scores with the handicap were 970-911-997. WORK WITH ‘GREAT ISSUES FORUM’ AT I. U. Anita Rodgers, r 2, Syracuse, and Christine Rohe, r 2, Leesburg, were among' students named to' work with the' third annual Great Issues Forum convening Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 and 17, at Indiana university. The forum is a model in which I.U. students assume the roles of U.S. senators. It is made up of 100 students divided according to party make-up in the U.S, Senate, with 67 Democratic senators and 33 Republicans. Each student serves on one of five committees set up to draft model legislation on current national and international problems. In this week end’s session, the senate will meet as a whole to consider legislation recommended by the committees. The forum is a student government project, and is organized and supervised'by a student steering committee. Additional sessions are planned during the school year, featuring talks by actual U.S. senators and others in government. Miss Rodgers represents a Democratic senator from Mississippi and is on the Foreign Affairs committee, and Miss Rohe, Republican from New Jersey, Welfare committee.

Trojans Defeat Bristol; Head County Teams The Milford Trojans pulled away from a 34-34 half-time tie to hand Bristol a 70-56 loss last Friday night on the Bristol riardwood. The win was the third in a row for the Trojans, they had defeated both Claypool and LaPaz earlier this year. With Pierceton defeating South Whitley, the only other undefeated team in the county standings, Milford now heads the county’s standings. Bristol jumped off to an early lead and held a 14-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Trojans came back during the second peroid of piay to tie the score at half time. Coach Jim Alien’s boys came to life in the third and led 54-49 at the end of the peroid. Senior Tom Holderread again held top scoring honors for the evening. He had 26 points, all on field goals. Holderread has a 20.6 scoring average going for him after the three games. The only other Trojan in double figures were Verl Baker with 11. Bristol had three players in double figures. Craig’ Keller and Terry Shorter had 15 and Dennis Ziegler had 14. Neither the Trojans or the Pirates was accurate from the free throw line, Milford connected with eight of 28 for 29 per cent and Bristol connected with 10 of 22 for 45 per cent. ROUND TABLE LADIES MEET TUESDAY Nineteen members of the Syra-! cuse Ladies of the Round Table I met Tuesday night at the Lake | Wawasee summer home of Eli Lilly with Mrs. Everett Miner as hostess. Mrs. W. Carl Satre of Toledo, 0., was a guest. Mrs. Vernon Beckman, president, presided for the business meeting at which time reports were heard from Mrs. Leonard Barnhart on blind goods sold by the federated clubs and from Mrs. Richard Ditmer on the Monday night meeting of the Purdue Survey group at the Syracuse schools. Response to roll call was a gift for mental health to be given to the Fort Wayne state school. Program for the evening consisted of two short book reviews. Mrs. Michael Neff reviewed Tolstoy’s “What Men Live By” and Miss Ethel Bowser reviewed Wibberly’s “The Time of the Lamb”. Delicious German chocolate cake was served by the hostess at the close of the evening. Parnin of Fort Wayne, Ind., is returning to his Indiana Air National Guard unit at Baer Field in Fort Wayne, following his graduation from the technical training course for United States Air Force jet aircraft mechanics here. Airman Parnin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Parnin of 2025 E. Rudisill Blvd., Fort Wayne, was trained in the maintenance and inspection of jet fighter planes cuirently in use «by the Air Force. Thanksgiving Day Program At Goshen Church A traditional Thanksgiving Day service will be held in all Christian Science churches on Thursday, Nov. 28. In Goshen the service will begin at 11 a. m. in First Church of Christ, Scientist, located at 111 north sth street. A Bible lesson on “Thanksgiving” will be read, opening with, a vetse from Psalms 33:1: “Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous, for praise is comely for the upright”. The service , will also include hymns, prayer, and a special period during which church members in the congregation may stand up and express their thanks.
