(Mike) Hodges remained certain this week that he is doing the “only thing” in asking for a recount of last Tuesday’s vote in the Warsaw city election. Hodges was defeated by a npr- : row 95-vote count - 1,233 to 1,328 : -by Joe Johnson for the office of mayor. Hodges was a candidate on the : Citizens ticket, Johnson on the Republican ticket, and Wayne Graff, who garnered 510 votes, was the | Democratic candidate. “I have good reason to believe ; there were enough of my ballots . thrown out to swing the election J my way , Hodges said this week, i and he remained firm in his. conviction that he would press for a recount. . He has employed a Warsaw law firm to represent him in seek--1 ing the recount. I “The Republicans and Demoi crats had people on the election board, but we had no one”, Hodges stated, “and this is reason enough to ask for an impartial count”. Hodges is the fiery hard-hitting mayor who was defeated in the Republican primary by Johnson. His term as mayor has won wide i plaudits for him and his city adI ministration, but he has stirred
controversies in a running battle with his local newspaper and others within the GOP fold.
