A musical program was presented in the afternoon at the Rally Day and Homecoming service held Sunday at the First Brethren church in Milford. Rev. and Mrs. Clayton Mock spent last Thursday and Friday in South Bend. i ——: - SOROSIS CLUB HAS , GUEST SPEAKER Mrs. Lucile Strayer of Milford was the guest speaker at the Monday evening meeting of the Milford Sorosis club ‘held at the home of Mrs. Ronald Brown. There were 18 members and two guests, Mrs. Charles V. Kerlin and Mrs. Strayer, present. Mrs. Robert Brown, president, opened the meeting. Members repeated the collect ahd responded to roll call. Mrs. Joseph Judkins, program leader for the evening, presented Mrs. Strayer who gave an interesting . talk on “Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Shakespeare. At the close of the meeting the hostess served frozen dessert and coffee. The Sorosis club and Columbian Reading Circle will meet at Bethel Church of the Brethren : in Milford on Nov. 11 for their annual reciprocity meeting.

| Martin L. Leigh 1 1 Alartin Luther Leigh, 83, of Milford died unexpectedly in a I heart attack at 1:15 a. m. Mon- ’ day at the -Oswalt apartment 1 house in Milford where he made i his home.. A retired cabinet worker, Mr. ; Leigh was bom May 10, 1880, in Columbus Grove, O. He had lived in Milford for the past 20 years. Mr. Leigh never married and has no immediate survivors. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. at the Milford cemetery. Rev. Floyd Schuder officiated. James A. Fields James A. I’ A lifetime resident of Koscius- | ko county, Mr. Fields was born ! in Warsaw on Aug. 28, 1895, the j son of Air. and Airs. George Fields. He was never married. Mr. Fields was a retired employee of the Uline A’lfg. Co. in Nappai nee. j Surviving are one sister, -Mrs. i Noble Neff of Milford, and an aunt, Mrs. Ida Taylor, with whom Mr. Fields made his home. Funerai were held on Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock in the Mishler funeral home in Milford. Rev. Raymond Wilson, pastor of the Island Chapel church at Hastings, officiated and burial j was in the Leesburg cemetery, Leonard Holloway Word has been received from ' Mrs. Robert Linton, Sr., of Okem- j os, Mich., that her brother, Leon- 1 ard Holloway, 73, 4410 south Hag- j adern Road, Okemos, a retired Oldsmobile employee and former resident of .Milford, died in a Lansing hospital on Saturday, Oct. 26. He had been a resident of Lans-1 ing for 47 years. Mr. Holloway was a member of the Quarter Century club of Oldsmobiles, and an employee for 35 years. He retired in 1956. He was a life member of the Lansing Masonic lodge. Surviving are his wife, Lena j ( Whitehead) Holloway; three sons, i Donald, Alax, and Hugh; three j daughters, Arneal, Ruth, and Jo- ; ann; 19 grandchildren and two! great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Linton, the former Opal Holloway. Funeral services were held at the Estes-Leadley Colonial chapel in Lansing at 2:30 p. m. Monday. Burial was in; Evergreen cemetery in Lansing. He was dismissed after treatment. 21 ATTEND FRIENDSHIP CLASS MEETING Twenty-one members of the Friendship class of the Milford First Brethren church met Sunday | evening, Oct. 20, at the home of Air. and Mrs. Bill Little. Mr. Little presided over the meeting in the absence of the president. Bob Geiger opened the meeting with prayer. Various committee chairmen reported the progress their committees were making. The approaching chicken and biscuit supper of November 23 was further discussed. Following the business meeting several exciting games of aggravation were played. Cherry delight, homemade cookies, coffee and tea were served to the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Felkner and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Morehead assisted.
Lake Wawasee Property To Be Nuns’ Summer Home The Teeter property located on the south side of Lake Wawasee has been purchased by Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters to be 1 used as a vacation spot for Sis- | ters whose Mother Convent is in Huntington. The large Danial C. Teetor house contains nine rooms. It has six bedrooms, five baths, living room, kitchen and dining room.. Four lots in the John T. Vawter’s first addition to Vawter’s park I and three adjacent lots were also ! purchased. The home has been in use this i past summer by the nuns. The novitiates and Catholic nuns returning for further study at the mother convent at Huntington will be able to spend a week’s vacation lat Lake Wawasee. A highway situate in Second Addition to Valentines Subdivision on Yellow Cr'ek Lake and in First Addition to Valentines Subdivision on Yellow Creek Lake located in Section Twenty-Seven (27), Township Thirty-One (31) North, Range (5) East in Kosciusko County, Indiana, which said highway has for its center line a line described as follbw's, to-wit : Beginning Twenty-Five (25) feet East of the Northeast corner of Lot Number Forty-Five (45) in Second Addition to Valentines. Subdivision on Yellow Creek Lake' and running thence South Eighty (80): rods:' thence-East Two Hundred Thirty-Six (236) feet to a point on the East boundary line of Lot Number Twenty (26) in . First Addition to Valentines Subdivision on Yeilow Creek Lake, said point being Twenty-Five (25) feet North of the Southeast corner of said lot Number Twenty (20).
