Rev. John Zeman Officiates At Robison-Miller Rises Saturday

Miss Linda Lee Robison, who resides with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland J. Bickel at Goshen, became the bride of Walter Edward Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller of Goshen and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller of r 1 Milford, in a 10 a. m. ceremony Saturday, October 26. The Rev. John Zeman, O. S. 8., pastor of the St. John’s Catholic church, officiated at the double ring ceremony held in the church in the presence of 125 guests. As the guests were seated by Jerry and Ned Robison, brothers of the bride, bridal selections were played by the church organist. Two large baskets of white snapdragons and blue pompons formed the altar decorations. Bride In Satin The bride entered the church in a floor length gown of peau de soie satin styled with an empire bodice of imported Alencon lace with scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. The princess lines of the high waist led to the skirt which was finished in back by a bow and very full chapel • train. * Her caplet crown ,was styled with drop crystal over Alencon lace and attached to an all-silk veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white pompons with blue mums. Mrs. Sally Huffman served as matron of honor and Mrs. Steven Cook served as bridesmaid. They" were gowned alike in frocks of French blue fashioned with fitted bodice, scoop neckline, and elbow length sleeves. The bell shaped skirts were redingote styled at back, ornamented by embossed sprays of embroidery. Their pillbox headpieces were designed with bow and circular veil and they carried cascade arrangements of white and blue pompons. James Miller attended his brother as best man. Mrs. Ned Robison, sister-in-law of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Reception Follows A reception followed the ceremony at the Union Hall on east Plymouth avenue. Serving were Mrs. Burdette Tressler, Mrs. Joe Zollinger, Mrs. Neal Cory, Mrs. Pete Bickel, Mrs. Bart Corcellia, and Mrs. Tom Ethell. The couple will reside at the Skyview Mobile Village on r 5 Goshen following a wedding trip to Wisconsin. Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of Goshen high school. The bride is employed by Fiedeke Dry Cleaners and the bridegroom by Hill’s Sinclair Service. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Joseph Gerencser, and a short business meeting was held. Following the business meeting Mrs. Ahrns introduced Ren Clark, who then introduced his -special guest, Larry Nunemaker of Nappanee. Mr. Nunemaker is a coin dealer whose business covers most of the United States. He gave a * most informative talk on coin collecting as a business and as a hobby, showing many rare and unusual coins to illustrate his talk. Mrs. Duane Graff and Mrs. Herbert Stump won mint “proof” sets for guessing the most valuable coin in a specific collection. Mr. Nune- * maker also presented a coin folder to each member to help them start a collection. Articles made by the blind were won by Mrs. Randall Dewart, Mrs. Stump, and Mrs. Gerencser. The hostess served spice cake, seasonal candies, and coffee to 15 members and two guests, Mrs. Frank Barker and Mrs. Karl Hoover. The next meeting will be the annual reciprocity meeting. Our Churches Cordially Welcome You ATTEND THE CHURCH OF YOUR CHOICE REGULARLY RELIGIOUS'MESSAGES ARE SPONSORED IN THE HOPE OF ENCOURAGING GREATER RECOGNITION OF MAN’S DEPENDANCE IN HIS CHURCH FOR SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE. Jim Branch works in our local bank. I’ve known him for years. We went to school together. BuM never felt I could come right out and ask him why he never goes to church. One night when we both happened to get into a confidential frame of mind, the words came easier. He told me that —of all things —it was because he hated this business of passing the plate for money. He said he saw enough money at the bank all week without seeing it worshipped on Sunday too. I admit this shocked me. That’s why I told him, frankly, that I thought he’d completely missed the point. I told him our minister once said that it gives him a good feeling when he receives the collection; not because this is money but because the people are giving the fruit of their own efforts to God. In the old days, it might have been a sheep, or the choicest fruits and vegetables from the harvest. Today, it’s dollars and cents. But the motive is still the same, and it’s a good motive. I saw Jim at the morning service a couple of weeks ago, and something tells me that it won’t be long before he’ll be getting the point . . • not missing it I Copyright 1968, Keister Advertising Service, Ine., Strnsburg.
