Mrs. Bricker plans on visiting for two weeks. The Calvary Baptist church of Oswego held its annual MotherDaughter banquet Saturday at the Horn’s Sunnymede restauarnt in Warsaw with 39 guests present. Giffs were presented to Mrs. Leora Stookey; Mrl. Zella Rowe and Mrs. Charles Hunter. Mrs. Jon Dimberg of Leesburg spent Monday and Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Dimberg and Missy of Chapman Lake. Mrs. ( Dimberg’s husband is stationed at Amerillo, Texas where he is going to school. Mrs. Dimberg will join her husband in June. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Teeple, Rodney, Jerry, Sarah and Barbara of Tippecanoe Lake were Mother’s Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray McCartney of Warsaw. The McCartneys are the parents. of Mrs. Teeple. Mrs. Nettie Teeple of Stanton Lake was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kreider of Milford. Members of the Leesburg Brethren church received a first hand glance of the missionary field when Rev. Dowdy, missionary to Argentina was a guest of the church. Slides and a narration were given by Rev. Dowdy. The Senior SMM girls of the Leesburg Brethren church met at the home of Miss Carol Welborn, Monday evening with Miss Pam Osborn as the leader. Daily Vacation Bible school dates for the Leesburg Brethren church are the week of June 10-14 with the closing program on Sunday evening Jue 16. All children from the town are welcome to attend. Mrs. Jesse Ferverda of Oswego is now living at the Alfran Nursing Home in Warsaw. Mrs. Ferverda would be happy to hear from her neighbors and friends. Deaths Mettie Mae Price Funeral services will be held in the Milford Christian church at 2 p. m. Friday for Mettie Mae Price, 81, a former Milford resident, who passed away at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph hospital in Mishawaka. Death was caused by complications. The deceased was born on August 14, 1881, in Tiffin, O. On August 15, 1929 she was married to David Price. He preceded her in death in 1954. She was a member of the Milford Christian church. Survivors include four sons, Raymond Baer of Holland, Mich., Herbert Baer of Goshen, Glenn Baer of Englewood, Calif., and Wayne Baer of Wayne 0., two daughters, Miss Lucille Baer of Mishawaka, and Gertrude Beamer of Zenia, O.; one brother, Alva Souers; one sister, Mrs. Mary Oster; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Mishler funeral home after 7:00 this evening (Thursday) until noon Friday. Following the services with Rev. Carl Shearer officiating, the body will be taken to Ohio where burial will take place in the Bethel cemetery at McCutchinville on Saturday.

FORCES, GERMANY — Army Staff Sergeant Ralph R. Disher, Jr., son of Mrs. Irene E. Disher, Milford, took part in evercise “Grand Slam II” May 2 through 7 with other members of the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Germany. Elements of the Canadian, French and German armed forces also participated in the exercise which was designed to test plans and procedures of NATO forces assigned to Central Europe. Sergeant Disher, a gunner in Troop M, 3d Reconnaissance Squadron in Germany, entered the Army in 1935. He was last stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., and arrived overseas on this tour of duty in May 1959. The sergeant is a graduate of Syracuse high school.
