Milford Lions View Film On 'soo' Monday Milford Lions saw an excellent color movie on the 1962 motor speedway races at Indianapolis, at their Monday night meeting at the Melody Case. Jim Allen showed the films which were arranged for by Lion Phil Campbell. John Replogle was presented a certificate of membership, pin, copy of the club’s by-laws, and a “We Serve” folder. Guests at the meeting were Norman Lanham, Jolin Young, and Farrell Cain. The next meeting will be Monday, Dec. 17. Arrange for Santa The Milford Lions have again arranged for Santa Claus to appear at the elementary school in Milford with treats for the kiddies. He will appear at 9:30 a. m. Friday, Dec. 21, according to Lion president John Haughey. CRC MEETS WITH MRS. A. BEISWANGER The Columbian Reading Circle met at the home of Mrs. Arlo Beiswanger on Monday evening, Nov. 26. Seventeen members and two guests, Mrs. F. L. Rheinheimer and Miss Maris Knox, were present Members answered roll call with ’’What I’m most thankful for."

The Christmas party will be held at 6 :30 p. m. on Dec. 10 at Mrs. V. G. JJprsey’s. Reservations are in the charge of Mrs. Herbert Baumgartner. Mrs. Joseph Gerencser was in charge of the program on art. She chose religious and early American art for her topics. She told of the origin of art and showed many pictures for illustrations. A dessert of lemon sugar cake was served by Mrs. Beiswanger at the close of the meeting. 808 BAILEY HONORED AT DINNER SUNDAY Bob Bailey of Milford, left today (Thursday) for induction into the United States Army, was honored at a dinner held Sunday in the home of his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Eldrige Bailey and Rodney. Bob is a 1957 graduated of Milford high school and was employed at the I-XL plant in Goshen before leaving for the Army. Present at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bailey, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bailey, Sr., and Pattie, Mr. dnd Mrs. Woodrow Free, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hamilton and John, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Campbell, Jr., Lisa and Jeff, Miss Shirley Kehoe and Mrs. Eula Hamilton, all of the Milford area; and Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Bailey and daughters of Kalamazoo, Mich. Senior Homemaker 4-H Club Elects Officers The Senior Homemaker 4-H club met at the home of Virginia Arthur on December 3. An election of officers was held. Officers are as follows: Presi-
dent, Beth Hoover; Vice president, Linda Wertenberger; Sec., Jeanne Moneyheffer; Trea., Judy Vanlaningham; Reporter, Virginia Arthur; Recreation, Joyce Beer, Song leader, Michelle Conn; Assistant song leader, Cinday Taylor; Health and Safety, Linda Kesler. It was decided how much dues would be and when meeting nights would be. Linda Kesler gave a demonstration entitled “Haystacks” a Christmas candy which was served with other refreshments of cokes, pretzels and potato chips. At the close of the evening the group played Rhythm and King Bobo, and was taken on an exciting hunt by Beth Hoover. — Virginia Arthur, reporter. Rowland s Return To Leesburg Mkt. John and Erma Rowland, who operated Rowlands Market in Leesburg for 25 years until the fall of 1961, are back in business at the same old stand. Jim Watson of Fort Wayne, who operated the store for a year, has announced no plans for the future to date. The Rowlands will feature the same friendly service which they did in the past and still feature custom butchering and processing and fresh home killed meats as before. They hope to renew acquaintance with many of their former friends and customers in the near future.

SILVER THIMBLE CLUB HAS YULE PARTY AT WESTMINSTER HOTEL Thirty-nine members of the Silver Thimble club of Milford and two guests, Mrs. Raymond Levy of Warsaw and Mrs. Earl Kammerer of Leesburg, were in attendance at the annual Christmas dinner-party which was held on Tuesday evening in the Westminster Hotel at Winona Lake. A smorgasbord dinner was served in the Rainbow room where the group found their places at a large U-shaped table, which was decorated with blue spruce branches and large blue ornaments. Place cards and napkins also carried out the same color scheme, and favors were miniature white and blue candle churches, Mary and Child, and snow houses. Each person also received a calendar, the gift of Mrs. Marion Beer of Goshen. Mrs. Eldon Beer gave the table grace before the dinner. Mrs. Fred Weisser played a number of Christmas carols on the piano with everyone singing. Mrs, Virgil Zimmerman played carols on the accordion. Mrs. Andrew Kammerer told the Christmas story and the signifiance of the first Christmas. A short business session was conducted by Mrs. Lowell RassL The gift exchange was held around a lovely Christmas tree, with those having birthdays in December being the first to receive theirs. The other months were called off accordingly until each had received her package. Names had been drawn at a previous meeting, since there were no secret pals this year.
