Basketball Schedule For LHS The Leesburg Blue Blazers basketball schedule has been released to The Mail-Journal by coach Robert Holcomb. The Blazers will play seven home games and nine away from home. On December 28 and 29 they will be in a four-way tourney with Sidney, Claypool and Silver Lake. The county tourney will be held in the new Warsaw gym January 10 thru 12. The sectional tourney will be on Feb. 27 thru March 2 with the place being released later by the IHSAA. . Syracuse Man Seriously Injured In Auto Accident Dale Paul Kirkdoffer, 21, of r 3 Syracuse, remains in fair condition in Our Lady of Mercy hospital in Dyer, Ind., after- receiving serious injuries in a one car accident last Thursday, Sept. 20, shortly after noon. Kirkdoffer, whose injuries included a skull fracture and a deep scalp laceration, was driving east on U. S. 30 about a half mile west of Pierceton when his 1955 Ford left the highway. His car traveled 261 feet into a com field and turned over. It was reported by a witness that Kirkdoffer may have fallen asleep. His car was a total loss. State trooper Gerald Waikel and Kosciusko county sheriff Sam Holbrook investigated the accident. Originally taken to the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw, Kirkdoffer was later transferred to the Dyer hospital. * SYRACUSE Hospital Notes Caron Carr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carr of Bonar Lake, is reported improving satisfactorily at Parkview Memorial hospital, Fort Wayne, where she has been a patient for the past four weeks. Miss Julie Hocker of Syracuse was admitted to the Goshen hospital last week and released. Clyde Johnston of Syracuse was admitted to. the Goshen hospital last week. Sonya Jean Line of r 1, Syracuse, was admitted to the Goshen hospital late last week and has been released. Mrs. Elsie Bowersox of Syracuse was admitted to the Goshen hospital late last week. Her room number is 381. Fem Bunger of r 2, Syracuse, was released from the Goshen hospital early this week.

BEER, Tamara Jill A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs, Eldon Beer of Milford in the South Bend Osteopathic hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Tamara Jill tipped the scales at seven : pounds, 9% ounces. She has three brothers, Kent, Tom, and Jan. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Phil Getz of Wolcott and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Beer, Sr., of New Paris.. BECK, Robert Schilling Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Beck of Avilla announce the birth of a son, Robert Schilling, bom Sunday, Sept. 16, in McCray hospital at Kendallville at 9:03 p. m. He weighed 10 pounds and 4 ounces and is 23 1 A inches long. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Beck of Syracuse and the maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schilling of North Manchester. , . ■ LECHLITNER, Debra Ann Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lechlitner of r 2 Milford are the parents of a daughter, Debr. Ann, bom Sept. 20 at 4:45 a. m. in Goshen General hospital. Debra Ann tipped the scales at 7 pounds and 15% ounces. The Ledhlitners have another child, Denny, 4. Mrs. Sebert Couffman of New Paris is the maternal grandmother and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lechlitner of near Milford. MEHL, Jeffery Lee Mr. and Mrs. James E. Mehl of r 1 Milford are the parents of their fourth son, Jeffery Lee, bom Friday, Sept. 21, at Goshen General hospital. Jeffery Lee weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces. James Dee, Timothy Edward and Kenneth Dean are the other sons of the Mehls. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mann, all of Ligonier. LEATHERMAN, Brent Lee Mr. and Mrs. Max Leatherman of Elkhart are the parents of their first child, a son Brent Lee, born Monday, Sept. 24, at 11:24 p. m. in Goshen General hospital. Brent Lee weighed six pounds and one ounce. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Leatherman of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Lanoue of Illinois are the maternal grandparents. WARSTLER SON Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Warstler of r 1 Syracuse are parents of a son bom Sunday, Sept. 23, in the Elkhart General hospital. SYRACUSE CHURCH WOMEN MEET Syracuse Council of Church Women qiet on Tuesday at the Church of God with Mrs. Louis Firestone giving the opening prayer. Business The new officers of the year were installed as follows: President, Mrs. Joe Baumgartner; vice pres., Mrs. Herbert Linville; sec., Mrs. J. Ross Richey; treas., Mrs. Elmo Burson; and ass’t. sec., and reporter, Mrs. John Searfoss. Plans were discussed and made for World Community Day on Friday, Nov. 2, and a meeting will be held at Lakeside Chapel. This will begin at 10 a. m. and a potluck dinner will be held at noon. At this meeting, sewing bags will be made for missions in Asia. A collection will be taken at each church for the contenes of the sewing bags. The UNICEF drive was also discussed by all persons present. It was decided to omit the drive this year. ‘ 4 ! The closing prayer was given by Mrs. Ralph Wagoner.
Deaths Ida Mae Jessop Mrs. Ida Mae (Whited) Jessop, 73, Connersville, mother of Mrs. Harry (Lucille) Beer and Kurman Dale Jessop, both of Milford, passed away Sunday evening at Fayette County hospital in Connersville. • Last rites were held at 2 p. m. this afternoon at the ThompsonBrown funeral home in Connersville. Mrs. Jessop was bom at Harrisonville, Mo., October 29 1888. Her marriage to Charles W. Jessop of Connersville occurred on November 2, 1905, at West Plains, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 7. A son, Joseph Whited Jessop, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Jessop is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Minnie Kuchler of Indianapolis and Mrs. Cecelia Mercier of Connersville; two other sons, Daniel Jessop of Knightstown and Charles W. Jessop of Cambridge City; and several grandchildren. Her last visit to Milford was in June.
