Nappanee Converts To Dial Phone Service WARSAW — Officials of United Telephone Company of Indi- | ana, Inc., announced today that effective with the conversion of the Nappanee telephone exchange to automatic dial service at 2:01 a. m. on August 5, subscribers served by their Milford exchange will no longer dial "88” when placing long distance calls to Nappanee. The conversion at Nappanee will enable Milford subscribers to place their own station-to-station long distance calls to Nappanee by dialing “112” and then the new 7 digit Nappanee number, or for calls other than station-to-station by dialing “0.” If you do not know the new 7 digit telephone number for the particular person you wish to call, please dial “0” and the Warsaw operator will be happy to assist you. Telephone officials also point out that any Milford subscriber dialing “88” on and after August 5, will reach a tape recorder in the Milford office. The recorded message on the tape will inform subscribers that the number they have dialed has been discontinued and advise them to dial “113” for operator assistance. Officials further pointed out that all exchanges by the Warsaw toll center may make DDD calls to Nappanee on and after August 5.
