Christian Church Circles In July Meetings The three circles of the Milford Christian church held their July meetings recently. Circle one met at the home of Mrs. Clifford Replogle on Wednesday evening, July 18. Mrs. Ralph Biller served as co-hostess. A homemade hat auction was the project of the evening. Scripture and devotions were given by Mrs. Harry Good. Pray-, er was given by Miss Eloise Pinkerton. Mrs. Kenneth Cannon served as chairwoman during the short business meeting.

Mrs. Jerry Bushong at Waubee lake on Thursday evening, July 19. Mrs. John Gardner served as co-hostess. Mrs. Forrest Ramser presented an interesting and informative talk on “Hats.” She told the ladies, among other things, what type of hat looked best on each face shape. During the business meeting presided over by chairwoman, Mrs. Durward Seely, the ladies made plans for the all church picnic to be held on Sunday, July 29. Special treats will be given to the children in observance of Children’s Day and the assistant pastor, Norris Jackson, and Mrs. Jackson will be guests of honor. Mrs. Carl Shearer was in charge of devotions for the evening and spoke on the North American convention that she had attended recently. She also lead the ladies in prayer. Mrs. Flossie Young of Van Wert, Ohio, is spending the week with her cousin, Gale Green and Mrs. Green of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grove and sons of Milford were Sunday evening guests at a barbecue held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Harter of Milford. They celebrated Mrs. Hartter*s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wertenberger and family of Milford attended the Wertenberger reunion at Coldwater, Mich, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Freed of Milford attended the 44th Van Pherson family reunion Sunday held at the Bremen park. Syracuse Locals Mr. and. Mrs. Herschel Bitner attended the Indiana State Ski Championship meet at Lake George at Hobart Sunday. The Dewart Lake Skiers in competition were Jerry Hickman, Lynn Knisley, Richard Bitner, Bob Whitlock and Ron Rogers. Mrs. Irene M. Strieby of Kale Island and Indianapolis recently returned from a trip to Bonff and Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada; Victoria and Vancouver, B. C.; Washington, and Santa Barbara, California. Robert M. Strieby, a native of Syracuse and the son of Mrs. Irene M. Strieby of Kale Island, and his family recently moved from California to their former home at 1240 N. E. 27th Terrace, Pompano Beach, Florida. Mrs. Jessie Weingart, Mrs. James Isbell and Mrs. Ida Hibschman of Syracuse called on Mrs. Silver Hester in Mishawaka Tuesday. Rev. and Mrs. Robert Ensign and Elizabeth, Mary Anna, Sarah and Paul of Worthington, Ohio have been visiting the past few days with Pastor and Mrs. Carl Satre in Syracuse. Rev. Ensign is the Pastor of the All Saint’s Lutheran Mission and is Mrs. Satre’s brother. Tom Duckwall, a member of the Lutheran church in Syracuse and well known by many in the Syracuse area, is spending the summer in Toledo working in the office of the Augsburg Lutheran church. Tom is also working with the church’s Luther League. Rev. John W. Secor and Mrs. Secor and family recently moved to Syracuse. Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Blakesley Jr. and son Chuck of Syracuse spent the week end with Mr. Blakesley’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Blakesley Sr., in St. Mary’s, Ohio. Miss Hester Humble of University Place, lowa, visited her cousin Mrs. Georgia Miller of Syracuse from Tuesday to Thursday of last week. Miss Humble was educated for foreign mission work and served in Chile, South America and spent many years in social service work in New York City. She is now retired and teaches social service work in University Place. Michele Miller is spending this week teaching cheerleading at the university in Jonesborro, Ark. Dr. and Mrs. Tom McMahon anti grandson of Pittsburgh are stayat Mrs. Kegg’s tourist home in Syracuse this week and are visiting friends. They are former summer residents of Syracuse. Mrs. Calvin Doering of Wakarusa was a guest in the home of Mrs. Georgia Miller of Syracuse Sunday. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Perry Ort of Churubusco. Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hadley and family of Syracuse were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Williams, their son Melvin and their married daughter Mrs. Reese Small and child Sharol, all of Corona, California. Ellen and Michele, daughters of Mrs. Audrey LeCount of Syracuse, went for a ride on the famous Dixie of North Webster Lake last Sunday afternoon. They were accompanied by their mother, their | grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hamman, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hamman of Goshen. Mr. and Mrs. John Duy and Frantz, Erika, Theresa, John and Carl are moving this week end to Cleveland, Ohio. The Duys originally moved to Syracuse during the winter of 1951-1952 and lived here a few years before going to Cleveland. Several years ago, they returned to Syracuse and have been living on south Harrison street. Mr. Duy has been an employee of the Weatherhead Corporation, Franz is a 1960 graduate of Syracuse high school and the youngster, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Duy, will be missed by many friends and acquaintenances.

Connie and Carol Lower recently returned to their home in Toledo after spending a week with their grandmother Mrs. Ida Hibschman.

While there, they and Carol and Connie Lower went to the zoo. Calls Press Story 'lnaccurate,' Won't Sell School Plan John F. Augsburger of Lake Wawasee, chairman of the county committee on school re-organiza-tion, told The Pierceton Press this week that no effort will be made to “sell” the Woodland plan to the five-township area in the southeastern part of Kosciusko county. He termed last weeks’ Press story “inaccurate,” and said the matter of voting for or against the proposed school re-organiza-tion plan rests with the voters of the proposed district. — The Pierceton Press. 6TH ANNUAL RAPP REUNION HELD AT MONTICELLO The 6th annual Rapp family reunion was held Sunday at Monticello with 72 relatives in attendance for a basket dinner served at noon. President Orie Stoller of Chenoa, 111., presided over the business session and Mrs. Carl Rapp of Fairbury, 111., gave the secretary’s report. , An election of officers was held with Jesse Haab of Milford being i elected as president and Miss Hene Kammerer of Leesburg, secretarytreasurer. Winners for the day were Mrs. Chris Kammerer, Sr., oldest woman present, George Lehman of Warsaw, oldest man present, and Tracy Klopenstein of Leesburg, : the youngest. Phil Kammerer of Leesburg won first place in a : guessing contest. His father, Albert Kammerer, also of Leesburg, won second place. Mrs. Martin Stookey of Warsaw won the door prize. Chris Kammerer, Jr., of Leesburg, gave an interesting talk and showed slides on his trip to Europe. It was decided to hold the reunion in Monticello on the fourth Sunday in July next year. Guests were from Milford, Goshen, Leesburg, Syracuse, Warsaw, New Paris, Ind., and towns in Illinois. VIRGIL ZIMMERMANS HOSTS TO PEFFLY REUNION Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Zimmerman of Milford were hosts to 75 guests at a potluck reunion for the Peffly family last Sunday. This was the first family reunion. Many of the relatives were bom or raised in this vicinity and everyone enjoyed visiting and seeing persons that they hadn’t seen for ages. The children rode ponies, played crochet and badminton. i Mrs. Mabie Mullin, formerly of Milford, is residing with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Albright, in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Charles Brittsan of Milford was also present with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Kirkdoffer, of Ogden Dunes. Others were from Fort Wayne, Albion, Elkhart, South Bend, Portage, Millersburg, Dyer and Milford, Ind., Cincinnati, 0., Aurora and Homewood, HI. BILLER FAMILY REUNION SUNDAY Royce (John) Biller of Milford was elected president at the annual Biller family reunion held on Sunday at the Union Center school near Nappanee. One hundred relatives enjoyed the delicious basket dinner served at noon. President Kendall Biller of Milford conducted the business meeting. Mrs. Ralph Biller of Milford read the secretary’s report. The program was under the leadership of Ralph Biller of Milford. Other officers elected were Robert Rumfelt of Milford, vice president, and Mrs. Ralph Biller, sec-retary-treasurer. It was voted •to hold the reunion at the Union Center school next year. Guests were from Richland, Mich., Fort Wayne, Gary, Etna Green, Bourbon, Nappanee, Bremen, Michigan City, Mishawaka, and Milford. ENLIST IN AIR FORCE Don Stephenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Coen Stephneson, and Charles McKibbin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold McKibbin, both of Milford, enlisted in the Air Force Monday and will take basic training at Lackland . AFB, Tex. Both are 1962 graduates of MHS.

Bill Steffen of r 1 and Cleveland Shuder, both of Milford, were released from the Goshen General hospital last Friday. ! Mrs. F. L. Rheinheimer of r 1 and Miss Norma Jean Zook of r 1, both of Milford, were admitted ov- : er the week end for minor surgery ; at Goshen General hospital. Miss : Zook was released Monday and Mrs. Rheinheimer was dismissed Tuesday. Mrs. Charles Gamer of Leesburg was dismissed from Goshen General hospital over the week end. Mrs. Nellie Poe of Milford, who is a patient in Murphy Medical Center, is reported to be improving. Mrs. Donna Reed of r 1 Leesburg was admitted to the Murphy Medical Center Monday.
