Bowling Banquet Held May 22 Fifty persons attended the end of the season bowling banquet of the Tuesday Night Ladies League, May 22 at the Ten Pin club at Columbia City. Tables were attractively decorated with artificial flowers. Dainty imitation corsages and individual wooden bowling pins with each members name and closing average graced each place. Following a delicious chicken and swiss steak dinner, a business meeting was held. Lois Gilbert was elected president and Ella Dora Wogoman, vice-president, each for one year terms. Elected for two year terms were: Kathryn Knisley, secretary; Catherine Connell, treasurer and Linda Neff, sgt-at-arms. Awards First place honors for the year went to the Foo & Faye team for the most games won during the year. Members of this term were: Ann Karesh, Nancy Searross, Sharon Black, Maryrose Henning and Mary Thornburg. Other first place winners for the year were: High team game, scratch - Foo & Faye 877. High team game, hdcp. - Byler Motors 827. High team series, scratch - Foo 6 Faye 2366. High team series, hdcp. - Village Cleaners 2234. High individual game and series - Sharon Black 264-610. Highest raise in average - Sharon Black.2l. Sweepstakes derby - Lindy Vance and Nancy Searfoss 918 scratch-1023 hdep. Door prizes were won by Rose Markham, Kathryn Knisley, Damie Knisley, Mary Ann McClintic, Susan Brouwer and Marjorie Blodgett. Jackets Win 14-0 Over Ligonier Tuesday Night The Syracuse Yellowjackets baseball team racked up their first win of the season at Ligonier by trouncing the Ligonier Raiders 14 to 0 last Tuesday. The Raiders got 4 hits but weren’t able to score. ’ Pat Money, who pitched the first ’ 4 innings, struck out nine, while allowing only one hit. Dennis Buhrt, also of Syracuse, pitched the last 3 innings striking out six. and Jones led the team in RBl’s with 7 and 5 respecively. Outside of the excellent pitching, the team played defense like it was its first game; but under the guidance of coach Ummel the team should look good for its next game against Columbia City on June 3. SUTTOR, Lori Beth Mr. and Mrs. Allan Suttor of Bremen are the proud parents of a daughter, Lori Beth, born Monday morning, May 21, in the Bremen hospital. Lori Beth weighed seven pounds and 9% ounces. The Suttors have three other children, Steven, Allan and Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. John Martin of Milford are the maternal grandparents and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Suttor of Eureka, BL WARTHAN, Jeff Perry Mr. and Mrs. James Warthan of Milford are the parents of a son bom Thursday, May 17, in Goshen General hospital. Mrs. Warthan is the cook at the Milford Case. ROSENBERRY, Doreen Romattie A2c and Mrs. Larry Rosenberry are the proud parents of a seven pound and ten ounce daughter, Doreen Romattie, born Tuesday, May 22, at Panama City, Fla. Mrs. Rosenberry is the former Mrsha Chalk of Dewart Lake. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Chalk of Dewart Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rosenberry of Syracuse are the paternal grandpaemts. SMITH, Becky Jean Mr. and Mrs. Berton E. Smith, Syracuse, are the parents of a, daughter, Becky Jean, bom Friday morning, May 18, at 3:40 in the Goshen General Becky weighed 6 lbs., % oz., and is 18 inches long. At home are a sister, Bridget Jo, 4, and Bret Joel, 3. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Guy Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Swihart, all of Topeka. GREENE, Patricia Lynne Mr. and Mrs. Charles Greene, r 3 Syracuse, are parents of their first child, a daughter, Patricia Lynne, bom Friday morning, May 18, at 1:45 in the Elkhart General hospital. Patricia checked in at a nice 9 lbs., 8 ozs., and is 22 inches long. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hostetler of Syracuse, Mrs. Arlene Greene, r 3 Syracuse, and Devon Greene, r 4 Syracuse. WHITE Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. White of 734 Baltimore street, Syracuse, are the parents of a daughter bom Tuesday at the Goshen hospital.

MILFORD - LEESBURG Hospital Notes Dallas Ritter of r 1 Milford was released from the emergency room at Goshen General hospital last week after treatment of an injured right middle finger. Steve Yoder, r 1 Milford, was dismissed from Goshen General hospital last week. Mrs. Henry M. Zook and son, Duane Allen of r 1 Milford were released over the week end from Goshen General hospital. Mrs. Marshall Miller, r 1 Milford, was admitted Monday for medical attention at Goshen General hospital and released Tuesday. Mrs. Veva Bassett of Leesburg was dismissed Tuesday from the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. THE WILFRED HODLERS RETURN TO LAKE WAWASEE Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hodler have returned to their Lake Wawasee home after spending the winter in Hope, Ind. The Hodlers stated that they had received The Mail-Journal while in Hope and had enjoyed it very much.
