Junior Class Os j Milford To Present ■ Play* April 13 The three act play, “Arsenic and Old Lace,” which was first produc- ■ ed in New York city and starred ‘ Boris Karloff, will be presented on ‘ Friday evening, April 13, at 7:45 ■ by the Milford junior class, under ■ the direction of Mrs. Joan Tomp- ' kins. The play, written by Joseph '■ Kesselring, is produced through i the courtesy of Dramatists Play Service. 1 The setting is in a staid and1 supposedly proper Victorian home ’ of the Brewsters in Brooklyn, and the plot concerns the “charities” 1 of two —not-so-harmless spinster ’ aunts, Abby and Martha. Dement--1 ed nephew, Teddy, alias Theodore ! Roosevelt, rough rides his way ’ throughout the story. A quite nor- ’ mal love affair in the family ; somewhat offsets the criminal maneuverings of one, Jonathan 1 Brewster, long-lost brother, and his plastic surgeon, Dr. Einstein. (Professional, that he is, Jonathan ’ is not-a-little taken back by the • goings-on in his old home. ’ Through the offices of the local , police, the minister, the public complaints about Teddy’s blatant bugling, the hint of bodies in the I cellar, the senile aunts and Teddy are “almost” committed to Happydale Sanitarium; that is, until the home’s superintendent, Mr. Witherspoon succumbs to the refreshment of the spinsters’ grape juice! The juniors advise that punch will be served to the audience, and they guarantee that it will not be the Brewster variety. Taking part in the play are Carolyn Crowl, Mark Chambers, Joey Judkins, Lester Krull, Garry Miller, Gloria Slabaugh, Vicki Fuller, Jan Widup, Jim Sholtey, Phil Graff, Ronn Brown, Ed Leamon and Jerry Miller. Very active and responsible committee members are Susie Beer, Sally Berkeypile and Nilah Jonasch.
