A Letter To All The Good Folks Os Turkey Creek Township Community I like the word “Community” —a high and friendly community spirit pays big dividends. Let us all do more about that. You will find my name — Madison F. (Matty) Jones on the Republican ballot at the May Bth Primary election, a candidate sot the office of Turkey Creek Township Trustee. I would like to serve you again in that office. ' Qualifications are up to you. I was your trustee from 1942 to 1950 and really feel that most of the folks credited me with a job well done. There is no substitute for experience if coupled with good judgement and an understanding of human relations, plus the community welfare spirit. The office of Township Trustee is an important cog in the wheel of Progressive Community spirit. Among its requirements are good business practices, conducted to fit the needs of coiftmunity progress, and remembering that you are spending the taxpayers money. If favored as your choice for Township Trustee my only promise is to the best of ability to serve you. I like people — people like me — I hope. With modesty, I am, sincerely yours, c MATTY JONES • \ Paid Political Adv.

Hospital Notes Mrs. Callie Tusing, a patient at Elkhart General hospital recovering from a hip fracture, would enjoy receiving cards and notes from her friends. She is doing as well as can be expected and seems to be pretty happy* but would be considerably cheered by remembrances. Her room number is 342. It only takes a minute to give a little joy. Let’s just swamp her with cards! Mrs. John Van Pherson, 79,-fell at her home near Milford last Thursday striking her head and suffering injuries requiring her to be taken to the Goshen hospital. She was released Tuesday and is much better. GREENThe first step in determining the nature and seriousness of a sore throat is to examine your child. You can usually see a sore throat if you know how-to look for it. Using a good light (a flashlight is perfect) .and a tongue depresIl sor, take a quick W .-M int ° the t child’s throat. If \ ' I you see only 1 mildlypink ? areas and theje «st.- “ is no high fever or accompanying symptoms, it is usually stfs to wait a bit and give the irritation a chance to clear up with home care. However, if the efcroat is an angry red, call your toctor and let him decide what the step should be. A good many of the sore thtuats most mothers have to deal with art not serious. Most of them come and go in a short time~Avithout ever* turning into long-term illness.TheyU respond well to proper at-home care, including the use of mouthwash and gargles. Gargling, always recommended by doctors, can now be doubly effective since the. development of Isodine which retains all the germkilling powers of iodine. Also used as a mouthwash, Isodine kills bad breath germs and completely eliminates food odors. Another aid for anxious mothers is a decongestant inhaler like Nasalfire which should be used if your child's sore throat if accompanied 51 a stuffed up nose or nasal
