er of the truck, was taken to the Goshen General hospital In the Mishler ambulance where it was found he had escaped serious injury. Several weeks ago a similar accident happened at the same crossing involving a truck from Syracuse and one loaded with I-beams from Warsaw and bound for the Weatherhead plant in Syracuse. Brother Os Mrs. C. Housour Dies In Goshen Hospital Harvey Allen Hively, 61, Goshen, brother of Mrs. Clyde Housour, r 2 Milford, died Sunday at the Goshen General hospital. He had been in failing health for some time: Death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Hively was bom in Columbiana, 0., July 16, 1900. He was married to lona Drudge on May 11, 1931. V Surviving besides the Milford sister and the widow are: a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Betty) Stahl, Goshen; a son, Harry, Elkhart; a half brother, Earl Hively, Elkhart; and three half sisters, Mrs. Hazel Drake and Mrs. Ethel Babcock, both of Dunlap and Mrs. Ruby Ryan, El Monte, Calif. The Rev. David Jamieson officiated at the funeral services which were held Wednesday afternoon at the Yoder-Culp funeral home in Goshen. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by the Goshen Post 30, American Legion, of which Mr. Hively was a member.

Hospital Notes Mrs. Lulu Jackson, Leesburg, was admitted to the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw on Friday, Dec. 29. * Linda Yoder, r 2 Milford, was released from the Goshen General hospital after undergoing a tonsillectomy on Saturday. James S. Poe, Milford, underwent medical attention at the Goshen General hospital on Monday. LEVI CHUPPS HOME FROM FLORIDA TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Levi Chupp, Patricia, Loretta, Rosetta and Pam, returned Monday night from Sarasota, Florida, where they spent the holidays with Mrs. Chupp’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Helmuth. While in Florida they also visited the Sarasota Jungle Gardens and other places of interest. MRS. WAYNE BUCHER AND CHILDREN HOME FROM FLA. Mrs. Wayne Bucher, Wayne, Jr., Donald and Cynthia have recently returned from a 12-day vacation in Florida. The Buchers visited many interesting places while in the South and visited Mr. and Mrs. Anglin and Mr. and Mrs. George Moser, former residents of the Milford area.
Legion Auxiliary Initiates Eight Eight new members were initiated into Unit 226 of the American Legion Auxiliary Tuesday evening at the Legion hall. They were Mrs. Lloyd Coy, Mrs. Darrel Grisamer, Mrs. Louis Hare, Mrs. Harry Haab, Mrs. Maridean Warthan, Mrs. LaMar Rarig and Mrs. Alfred Place. An impressive candlelight ceremony was presented by the initiation committee and new members were given membership pins after repeating the pledge. Mrs. Worth Jackson, Unit president, opened the meeting with presentation of the flag and repeating the preamble in unison. She presided at the business meeting during which;time several chairmen grave reports on December activities in regard to giving fruit plates, food baskets, caroling to shut-ins and various other gifts and assistance done by the Unit during the holiday season. Plan Chili Supper Mrs. Robert Davis announced plans for a chili supper to be held for the public on Saturday, Feb. 3. Another interesting activity will be an afternoon card party set for Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Legion hall. This is also open to the public and many prizes will be given and refreshments served.

Mrs. Jackson also announced the next district meeting to be held at Pierceton on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Mrs. Howard Berkeypile led in singing “Auld Lang Syne” and “Onward Christian Soldiers." Thirty-six members and one guest, Mrs. Johnnie Oswalt, Leesburg, were served refreshments by the social committee—jello salad, assorted crackers, nuts and coffee.
