■With sky VIuo eyes anil kirtle green, And light foot tripping o'er the grass, 1 saw a rosy maiden coming; And every step, and every glance, Declared she was a haughty lass. She comes! she comes! the furthest isles Are radiant with her happy smiles, And down the hillside, o'er the lea, She lei do agoinlly company. She looked she seemed a very queen, So stately when 1 saw her puss, But floating hair, and garments loose, Bright blushes meeting on her cheeks, Declared she wip> a rustic lass. By times she laughed, by limes she wept, But/orward on her journey kept; Now o’er the vale, and down the hills, Uer laughing wakes the silver rills.
