Common PleasCourt.—Putnam Court of Common Picas—Judge Cowgill presiding—has been in session fortwo weeks, dispatching a vast amount of business. Administrators, Executors and Guardians have been unusually prompt in mak-

ing reports at this term.

Thc trial by jury of most interest was in thc case of Muir v*. Cooper. It cont'nued three or four days, and after patient investigation and able argument, resulted in a verdict, followed by judgment, for the defendant. The facts of thc Base are briefly these, as developed by thc testimony: At a camp-meeting near Putnamville, last fall, Muir, thc plaintiff, received a blow upon the left car from a dob, which prostrated him, and resulted in the permanent loss of hearing in that eBr. Cooper, the defendant, it was allegod, inflicted thc said blow, nnd this suit was brought for damagos for thc injury.
