Diddling a Km*ruliing Sergeant* In the town of Tramore, Ireland, lived Tom Tape. Tom was a handsome young 4ellow, with powerful upper works, but deformed feet, and made an honest live lihood by performing the duty of a knight
of the shears.
Our hero one evening was sitting over a noggin of home-brewed at the “Cow and Wheelbarrow,” cogitating upon the fate of tailors in genera^ and himself in particular, when who should enter hut the sergeant of a recruiting party. Eyeing Tom with the stare of a connoisseur, he advanced, and, by dint of the usual stratagem, prevailed upon tho reluctant tailor to accept the fatal shilling and then helped him to drink it. When he had guzzled all the ale, the sergeant arose and bade Tom follow. Tom got on bis feet and assured tbe sergeant that he “ couldn’t go without the aid of a crutch ! ” There was some tall swearing and no little fun at the “Cow and Wheelbarrow”

while engaged in purifying the blood; the coarser particles of impurity which cannot pass hy the other outlets, are thus taken up and conveyed off in greater quantities by the bowels. f’rom the above, it is shown that Dr. Morse's Indian Root Bills not only enter the stomach hut become united Xvith the hlood, for they find j way toevery part, and completely rout out and I cleanse the system from all impurity, and the life of the body, whieh is the blood, becomes perfectly healthy; consequently all sickness ami pain is driven from tho system, for they cannot remain w hen the body becomes so pure and
clear.
The reason why people are so distressed when sick, and why so many die. is because they do not get u mcuicine which will pass to the afflicted parts, and w hich will open the natural passages for the disease to be east out; hence a large quantity of food and other matter is lodged, and the stomach and i n test inesHre literally overflowing w ith the corrupted moss; thus undergoing disagreeable fcriuentutiou, constantly mixing with the hlood, which throws the corruptwl mutter through every vein and artery, until life is taken from the body hy disease. Dr. Morse's P11.L8 have added to themselves victory upon victory, hy restoring millions of the sii k to blooming health and happiness. Ye-, thousands who have been racked or tormented w ith sickness, pain and anguish, ami whose feeble frames have scorched by the burning elements of raging fever, and who have been brought, as it were, w ithin a step of the silent grave, now stand ready to testify that they would have been numbered w ith the dead, had it 4i"t been for this great and wonderful medicine, Morse's Indian Root Bills. After one or two doses had been taken, they were astonished, and absolutely surprised, in witnessing their eharming effects. Not only do they give immediate ease and strength, and take away all sickness, pain and anguish, hut they at once go to work at the foundation of the disease, w hich is the blood. Therefore, it will la 1 shown, e-peeially by those w ho use these Bills, that they will so cleanse and purify, that disease— that deadly enemy—will take its flight, and tlie llush of youth and beauty will again return, and the prospect of n long and happy life will cherish and brighten your days. DARNALL would most respectfully announce to the citizens of Putnam and adjoining counties, and the public generally, that he has recently opened a genera) Real Estate and Live Stock Agency, and is now prepared and ready to transact any business connected therewith, snob ns— Registering, Advertising, Selling, Transfering and Exchanging Real Estate; Locating Land Warrants, Investigating Land Titles. Collecting Claims and Investments, Renting and Leasing Farms, Renting Houses and Lots, Paying Non-resident Tuxes, Collecting Kents &c. ALSO, Registering, Advertising, finding Purchasers for, and when authorized so to do, in the Purchase, Sale, Exchange and Transportation of nil classes of Common Stuck ; and ALSO, Registering, Advertising, finding Purchasers for, and when empowered so todo, in Buying,. Selling, Exchanging, and Transporting ulll classes of Blooded Stock. The transaction in the Commission business will not he confined to any one particular branch, but will include all that is generally transacted at commission houses—in selling at auction or otherw ise all articles of Merchandise, Furniture, Farming and Mechanical Implements, Bonks, and in fact everything that E usually sold ut commission houses. All kinds Produce and Provisions bought and shipped, when so authorized. A peeud Entry and Register has been prepared, for the registration of Blooded Stock, in which a minute description will be given us to age, size, weight, color, pedigree, prieo and terms of all that may he registered for sale. Those who have common stock of anv kind for sale, can find an Entry and Register prepared for their special benefit, in which w ill bo given a full history, price and terms of all stock that may he registered for sale. Those who have Real Estate to sell or rent, or Personal Property of any kind, will find an Entry and Register sufficiently large to give the most minute description of your Bropcrti whether Real E.-tato or Personal—together with four price and terms. The ahovc-iuen-tioued Books have all been prepared expressly for the business, and are for no other purpose whatever. And ull persons who wish lo secure themselves homes, or trade in jx-rsonul property, common or blooded stin k, w ill find it to their interest to call and examine tho several Entries and Registers (which are always open for inspection,) and find the exact location, quality, kind, price and terms of whatever you wish to purchase. The design is to make this an intelligence office, into which ull, both buyers and sellers, w ho believe that un office of the kind will he advantageous to community, cun contribute something of iu tercst. Buyers who study well their own interests will find that no harm can arise from an examination of the records; and those who have property of any one or the several kinds for sale cannot possibly be harmed by having it registered, for not only do the records give n full description of your property, but also your own price and tenns. You make your own contracts; receive the funds from the hands of the purchaser, who may be directed to vnur property from the description on record. Then now can it he a losing game—a swindling ipune, or any other game, save that of a straightforward, upright, honest and hiiiinrahle transaction? And for keeping those several Entries and Registers, and finding purchasers for your property, (for in all cases where there is no tale made, there i.- no commission or charges whatever,) you will he taxed the following
