Advektisk! Advkiitisk! !—The inseparable relation between business and advertising should be Iw.nie constantly in mind by such as desire an inereased trade. A few dimes spent in advertising lias built up many a pixir business; the neglect of it has caused a eorresponding decline. The wants of the people must be supplied inform them of the kind and quality of your wares, and they will remember you when they come to buy. The columns of the Press offer superior inducements as an advertising medium. “A wotd to the wise issutlicieiit.

Stop Tih^k!—On Wednesday night last, ahorse belonging to Win. L. Lewis was stolen from the place where he had been left hitched in Grcencastle, by per sons unknown. The halter was out. and part of it left behind, so that, if turned loose by some malicious person, he may be recognized and reclaimed. Said horse is a bay about 15 hands high, with m> marks visible save a slight sear beneath the saddle. He is a natural trotter; is high-spirited and tiery. 1 nformation leading to his recovery, either with or without thief. will be liberally rewarded. Address Wm. L. Lew is, Grcencastle, Ind. * < ^ K Sahuath School Celebration.—The different Sabbath Schools ot Grcencastle will celebrate the eve; - glorious Fourth in an appropriate and, we trust, agreeable manner. IVo have heard no other public observance of the day proposed in behalf of our citizens, but suppose there will he a general cessation from business, and each one seek his own enjoyment. The Fourth occurring on Sunday, today (Saturday) has been set apart for the exercises in behalf of the several schools. The order of exercises, as fur nished us by the marshal of the day, will
be as follows :
The several church bells will ring at o’clock, to summon the scholars to their respective schools. At 8A o’clock, the schools will form their line of march, as follows: The Baptist school will march first to the Christian church, where they will be joined by that school; both will then march to the First Charge Methodist Church, where they will he joined by the two Methodist schools; from thence they will march to the public square, to be joined by both the Presbyterian schools. The procession, thus formed, and led by martial music, will proceed to Mr. Black’s beautiful prove, in the vicinity of town. The reading of tho Declaration, singing of national hymns, an oration by Rev. Mr. Badger, and other brief exercises will be had, when all present will he permitted to refresh and enjoy themselves as they think proper. Cornr of Common Fleas.—The June term of the Putnam Common Pleas Court —commenced on the first Monday of the mouth, and continuing three weeks— finally terminated on Saturday last. A large number of civil causes were disposed of. Probate business was light. The following comprises a synopsis of amount of business done, expenses of term. Ac., as furnished us by Deputy
