Couldn't Hear it Thunder.
An interesting letter from Mr. John W. Weeks superintendent of DeKalb Pauper Home: Fron a feeling of gratitude and a desire to benefit others, I voluntarily make this statement. I bare great reason to be thankful that I ever heard of B. B. B., as I know what a blessing it has been to me. 1 have suffered with Bronchial Catarrh for a number of years. Six months ago I was taken with a severe Jin in my right ear, whioh in a few days began to discharge matter, with terrible and almost unbearable palpitation and all sorts of noises in my head. In ten days after the commencement of discharge and pain in my ear I began to grow deaf that I could not hear thunder.
I was then compelled to use conversation tube, and it was often that I could not hear with the tube. I then commenced taking B. B. B. and the running of my ear ceased running in five weeks, and can now hear without the lube. My general health has improved, palpitation ceased, and feel like anew being, and appreciate the benefit I have received from B. B. B. (made in Atlanta, **a.) with gratitude to God and thankfulness to the Proprietors for such a medicine. I cheerfully recommend it to all who are afflicted with deafness and catarrh. Try it persevere in its use and you will be convinced of its value.
JOHN W. WEEKS.

A MEDICINE NOT A 0R1NK.
High Authority.
Hop Bitters is not, in any sense, ah alooholio beverage or liqnor, and could not be sold, for use, except to persons desirous of obtaining medicinal bitters.
GREEN B. RAUM, U. 8. Com'r Internal Rev.
WASHINGTON, D. 0., Sept. 24,1884. Dear Sir—Why don't you get a certificate from CJol. W. H. W., of Baltimore, showing how he cured himself of drunkenness by ihe help of Hop Bitters. His is a wonderful case. He is well known in .Rochester, N. Y., by all the drinking people there .He is known in this city, Cincinnati, New Orleans, New York in fact all over the country, as he has spent thousands of dollars for rum. I honestly believe his card would be worth thousands of dollars to you in this city and. Baltimore alone, and' make thousands of sober men by inducing the use of,your bitters

Prejudice Kills.
"Eleven years our daughter suffered on a bed of misery under the oare of several of the best physicians, who gave her disease various names but no* relief, and now she is restored to us in good health by Hop Bitters, that we had poohed at two years before using it. We earnestly hope and pray that no one else will let their sick suffer as we did, on aooount of prejudice against so good a medicine as Hop Bitters."—The Parents—Good Templars.
MILTON, Del., Feb. 10,1886.
Having used Hop Bitters, the noted remedy for debility, nervousness, indigestion, etc., I have no hesitation in saying that it is indeed an excellent medicine and reoommend it to any one as a truly tonic bitters. Repectfally,
Rev. Mrs. J. H. ELLGOOD. Scipio, N. Y., Dec. 1,1884,
I am the pastor of the baptist church here and an educated physician. I am, not in practice, but am my sole doctor, and advise in chronic cases. Over a year ago I recommended your Hop Bitters to my invalid wife, who has been under medical treatment of Albany's best physicians several years. She has been greatly benefitted and still uses the mediaine. I believe she will become thouroughly cured of her various complicated diseases by their use. We both reccommend them to cur friends, many of whom have also been oured of their various ailments by them.

Cured of Drinking.
IT "A young friend of mine was cured of an insatiable thirst for liquor that had so prostrated his system that he was unable to do any business. He was entirely oured by the use of Hop Bitters. It nllayed all that burning thirt took away the appetite for liquor made his nerves steady and he has remained a steady and sober man for more than two years, and has no desire to return to his caps, and I know of a number of others that have been cured of drinking by it"—From a leading R. An Exciting Session of Toronto's Board of Trade.
The "Loyalists" Don't Want Commercial (Jnien With the United States.
TORONTO, May 20.—The closing scenes at the meeting of the Board of Trade last night were extremely exciting. The discussion of the question of commercial union with the United States had stirred up the blood of the contending factions so that the first motion for an adjounment of the debate was the signal for an outburst of the pent up impatience and the excitement, which found free play for an hour. R. 0. Steele asked leave to move that the Board meet Mr. Butterworth, of Ohio, on bis intended visit. Loud cries were raised of, "We don't want a stranger to instruct us," and remarks were shouted that his coming was an insult to the commercial men of Toronto. A scene of confusion followed. Motions to adjourn were put and lost. A large number of those present arose and were leaving the hall and the chairman put Mr. Mac Donald's resolution and it was carried by an overwhelming majority. The previous question was then moved and as this would out off Mr. Darling from replying, howls and yells were raised against It. The question was, however, put and carried, after which" a wild rush was made for the doors, several of the members leaping, roaring and throwing their hats in the air, while tha "loyal" coterie took posession of the floor, and shouted the national onthem at the top of their voices, The chairman's ruling in putting the motion and the" previous question was challenged, but the result of the meeting praofioally closes the discussion of the question of reciprocity by the boards

In answer as to how all this will effect the present management, he replied that "it would probably have to go, and that a receiver will be the outcome. About twenty years ago I discovered a little rare on my cheek, and the doctors pronounced It cancer. I have tried a nvjmber of physicians, but without receiving any permanent benefit. Among the number were one or two specialists. The medicine they applied was like fire to the sore, causing Intense pain. I saw a statement in the papers telling what S. 8. S. had done for others similarly afflicted. I procured some at once. Before I had used the second bottle the neighbors could notice that my cancer was healing up. My general health had been bad for two or three years—I had a hacking congh and spit blood continually. I had a severe pain In my breast. After taking six bottles of S. S. S. my cough left me and I grew stouter tlvu I had beta for several years. My cancer has healed over all but a little spot about the size of a half dime, and It Is rapidly disappearlng. I would advise every one with cancer to give S. S. S. a fair trial.
