COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

The board was in receipt of a communication signed by twenty-eight physicians asking that, the system of awarding the poor practice to the lowest bidder be abolished and that the salary be raised. The board made an order appointing Dr. T. C. Stunkard poor physician for the township for a year from May 1,1887, when Dr. Shaley's term expires, at a salary of $600 per year. The present salary is $350.

A bill of $200 presented by Township Trustee Reichert was disallowed. Mr. Reichert wanted that snm appropriated to him for the use of his horse and buggy while he has been riding around inspecting the township schools and bridges as a part of his duties. The suddenness with which the board sat down on the bill came nearly upsetting a grand juror who was asleep in the next room. The board ordered that in future there be two poor physicians for Fayette township.

The board has unanimously adopted a resolution referring to the retirement of C. F. McNutt from the county attorneyship. It speaks in high terms of his seven years able and energetic services on behalf of the county and regrets that "the force of events causes no further legal intercourse with him as such attorney."

The board adjourned for .the term today after letting the poor praotioe for the year from the 1st of May next to the following physicians: Harrison, T, C. Stunkard, 3600 Honey Creek, W. R.
