MURRAY'S MEANNESS.

Another Attempt Made by Him at Outrage.

From Satorday* Dally.

It now turns out that the day previous to Murray's attack on Miss Oampbvll aad Mrs. Dr. Wilson-Moore he attempted to outrage Miss Mary Liston a girl twenty-four years old who had been4o Mr. Nathaniel Beauchamp's for a bucket of milk. Mr. Beauchamp was in to the GAZETTE office today and related the circumstances. He lives ten miles below town. The Liston girl lives about a jnile north of him. As she started to leave she noticed Murray standing in the road with a club in his hands. It was broad day light, about 2 in the afternoon, tiut, still, she was afraid of him and hesitated about going out. He said "come on, I am waiting for that wagon to pass." Miss Liston was not re-assured 4y this. She did not see-why he wanted the wagon, which was coming up the road to pass and continued to hesitate. Finally Murray came up to her and then she ran. He jumped after her and seized her bonnet strings tearing the bonnet off. In the struggle he got the bucket of milk instead of her hand which he had caught for and she ran toward the house. Murray passed on and that night stopped at the farm of Mr. Jno. Carr, where he had formerly worked. He said to some one that Mr. Carr did not like him but he meant to stop that night at his house. The next day he went on

the man must be crazy, in which case he would not molest him, but if he was not he intended "to raise his wages." It is very well for Murray that Mr. Beauchamp did not catch up. with him for he would certainly have received a terrible threshing.

"Say, why is everything Either at sixes or at sevens Probably, my dear nervous sister, because you are suffering from some of the diseases peculiar to your sex. You have a "dragging down" feeling, the back-ache, you are debilitated, you have pains of various kinds.Take Dr. V. Pierce's "Favorite Prescription" and be cured. Price reduced to one dollar. By druggists.

Declined.

Jacob J. Daily has declined the Democratic nomination for constable. I He says his name was put up without his knowledge or consent and at a time when he was out of the ci y. Mr. Daily has been appointed additional deputy under Sheriff Cleary. The township committee will fill the vacancy. Mr. Daily is a good man and his refusal to be a candidate is to be regretted.
